I had one.. and it was one of the best flying airplanes I owned! It was an older CMP model that I re-painted a bit more to scale...

I finally got around to taking this puppy for a spin. It came in at 51lbs. I have a DLE 120 in it spinning a 27x10 prop. I posted pics of the second flight n youtube. Unfortunately the maiden flight was recorded but way to out of focus due to the camera being set on manual focus instead of auto. I have a hard landing on the second flight because my dual rate for my elevator was set lower than the previous flight causing me no to have enough elevator when I needed it. After cutting the throttle the plane dips. I need to keep a bit of throttle on approach to keep the nose up. I lost a wheel while trying to land cause a small bit of damage to the tailwheel and wheel cover but it could have been worse. The wheel is only held on by a clip.

My 120" Jerry Bates flew for the first time in primer last Saturday. Flew great with no real issues.

It has been a long time since posting but i finally have a little time to devote to the Hellcat.
I have started building new, much closer to scale ailerons. That's what i get for not studying the documentation well enough before building.

Hi Red Skyhawk, I just completed a Don Smith 86" WS Hellcat. This model is the same size as the Byron and will be in the 32 pound range. Could supply me with the control throws and c/g location on your model? I am using a G62 for power. Thanks for your help.
