It´s not problem to make it from the white vinyl. Do you want the "Hellcat brotherhood" or "F6F Hellcat"? The other one is also 150 mm long. But if you want, they could be bigger (max 250 mm).

Please add me to ranks of the Hellcat Brotherhood.
I'm in the finishing stages of the TF Giant Corsair build and have decided my next build will be a Ziroli or Jerry Bates F6F Hellcat. I'm currently reading up on both. Not sure which way I'll go yet.
thanks in advance for the add
Steve

Hello Steve, I made two F6F Hellcats, don't know for Bates, but Ziroli was great choice.

Welcome aboard Steve. Please have a look at MIrce's site, there is a lot of good information about his Hellcat. The Bates plans are also very good. Either should be a good option. Please keep us informed and will look forward to your build.

Well I got my second hellcat about a month ago from Jeff Micko.
My first Hellcat I had I built when I was wee lad; it was a formed balsa plane that flew with an cox 049 on a u-control. I flew the heck out of that plane till the day one of the lines let go and it did a face plant into the tarmac of the grade school lot I was flying at.
Attached is the latest delivery to my home of my new hellcat.

Hay Chad,
I finally received my pneumatic landing gear back from Darrall. He did a great job and are like new gear...it took Darrall a bit of time to receive them back...but it is worth the wait. He has some of the most robust landing gear on the market.

I'm at a loss to get another F6F...or a F7F Tiger Cat. I'll decide in time, but not sure what direction I want to go right now. Currently I'm finishing off a AMR Giant Twin Ugly Stick. I've built the Fuse...now onto the wings. Dual EME self starting gas engines and a tail dragger too.

Soft Landings Always,
Bobby of Maui

As per my Hangar 9 Hellcat manual : "Make sure the gear is retracted when checking the CG" . . . I see in your photos that you are balancing the plane with the wheels down. I have a newly assembled Hangar 9 Hellcat that I need to balance. Would someone be so kind as to confirm that retracted means that the wheel should be up into the wheel wells of the wings. Thanks

Yes, balance with wheels up in the wells. That is a slightly less stable configuration than with the wheels down. Better to balance in the worst case configuration, then it can only get more stable instead of the other way around.

orleck and hessian thanks for the advice but look at the photo again, only 1 gear is up the other is in the retracted position. The structs I install are machined aluminium with steel inserts both struts/wheels weight 12 oz.that is a big shift in cg.So I balance the aircraft this way and re checked cg with wheels up too.

Steve,
Thank you sir ,glad to become a member.I applied my rivet with a syringe and Tie-bond glue....what a pain in the *** .

Mirce your /finish kit are nice,I have rivets some rivets form Chad Veich for my Platt/Pica FW-190-Dora and I like them.If I ever finish all the kits I have "I'm a slow builder' I plan on building another Hellcat, it will probability a Jerry Bates 1/5 scale F6F Hellcat. I went to you webpage and stated to drool and when I opened your "Hellcat finishing kit page" the proverbial lights went off! I remember reading your build, and the scale exhaust you built is impressive.Cheers: Rich
