Default ARF wing has aluminum tube. Need more dihedral! How?

I'm looking to get an ARF Spitfire. The thing needs many changes to look more scale, including more dihedral. How would you go about doing this when it has a tube for a spar. Thought of notching tube but will weaken the integrity. Thoughts??? Paul

You could try the old trick of filling the tube with sand, sealing the ends with tape and bending. The sand will keep the tube from kinking. That's the way it's been done for hundreds of years.

Take the wing tube to your local plumber and have it mandrel bent to the degree you desire, no strength lost and no kink.

Does this wing have 2 tubes? I wonder how bending the tube will work? Maybe make it a one piece wing and glue it together?

Terry, the Spitfire I'm looking at is the World Models GS 80". Besides dihedral, it needs turtle deck changes and different canopy. Since I am going to join the wing together permanently, I can notch the tube at the center to the right angle and fiberglass the center section real good. Paul
