Default Pearl Harbor bash

So I've been asked through a third party, to get a Japaneese A6M2 type 21 built by an unspecified date, for the Museum of the Pacific Ford Island at Pearl Harbor, for an unspecified film project.

As you would be, I am thrilled at the opportunity!

So...as a stay at home dad, with two kids, 4 and 6(my four year old being autistic) I will do my best...

do to the fact that the ESM Zero is on backorder, I had to work with what was available, the CMP 50 cc Zero.

The time frame of the project demands the use of an available ARF, luckily I have a spare CMP 50cc Zero in storage.

I started with putting the fuse in white primer and then I removed the molded exhaust shields from the fuse with some sanding.

whoa... Don't know where the second photo came from, but that's where the fuse is now.

I ordered a cockpit kit from dynamic balsa, but quickly realize not much fit, so I scratch built a lot of what I've ended up with

i used instruments from Iflytailies.com

Here I'm relocating the control linkages, for both the elevator and the rudder. (making them internal)

This is what has been requested

I've since received a beautiful set of stencils and masks from Vickie at getstencils.com to use.

It will fly, and is only supposed to be scale enough to fool you on a fly by. It won't be perfect, but will give a good representation of the requested model during a filmed flying session.

more to come!

I will be powering it with the Rimfire 65cc electric on 12 cells/Castle Creations HV160 ESC, and using Century Jet electrics as they are drop in.

At this point what I have is basically is cowl for the A6M3, which as we know is not correct. With the addition of the lower intake on the cowl, it should be passable from the side profile. All I would really have to do, is rework the gun troughs and the small upper intake on the lip of the cowl and it would be complete and correct, but as time is an issue I'll forgo doing those two, as I think this will work.

Thanks! I bet with the weather you've had lately! I'm from Lafayette originally myself.

Well the "bash" is this build. As far as the Pearl Harbor memorial, it's held on December 7th of course. As for the film. I have limited info. I was told that filming at Ford Island is underway at the moment.

It Ain't Gona Sound like a ZERO. Go Gas. A 5 Cylinder 4 Stroke would fill the bill. Not "Lectric" PLZ If ya gots ta gos "Lectric" at least invest in a MR.RC Sound system.
