For the history buffs out there, here is a very cool "motion picture" of the uncrating and field assembly of the P-47. Talk about the ultimate ARF!!

Hound dog - Be sure to consider the need for engine cooling. No hole in the cowl equals no air flow over the engine and overheat problems.

Count me in if you can

I've got a Top flite build on the bench that I've taken longer than I'd like (2 years). Just got to the messy making the doors etc with laminating but other projects got in the way (Stuka & FW-190 ARTF which I have both modified). I was going to place an Evolution 26cc gasser up front but changed my mind - now thinking a 120OS or a radial 3 cylinder Saito. I have also made the canopy slide - pics attached. I'm also working on making the cooling cowls work as the real one - opening and closing depending on the engine temp

That's why I've put Cylinder Head Temp Not Engine temp with my Aurora 9 on the G-62 . All the flights so far have been good no over Temp but I've been think of opening up the bottom some more. I'd like to make operating Cowl Flaps but then the Cowl mounting would have to be changed and it would be a lot of work. Since I've been retired (1 Nov 2000) "WORK" Seems to have become a 4 letter word. Thanks for the suggestion, Everything helps, that's what this Brother hood is all about, Right?

Engine - RCG 50 - Servos Hitech 5645 and JR 8231
Retracts - ESM and wheels. AUW - 22 lbs. Crashed after 6 flights due to
lack of glue on main fuse-servo mount.

Hello All,

Yes please include a description of your plane with the type of kit (scratch built, kit, ARC, ARF), weight, wingspan, length, engine, prop size and type, retracts, brand of wheels & tires.
This will help your brothers out when trying to get their projects dialed in!

Thanks in advance!!!

What could be better than a pair of big jugs
Add me on the roster, I've been in love with these babies since I was a kid. My first one was a TF 60 kit that got shot down on it's 5th mission. Currently I'm building another one that will be powered with a DLE 20 just like my Mustang and P-40
Here is the thread where i am building the next one http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/kit-...7-build-2.html

First of all thanks Rick for making me a member of the brotherhood And second, The pics I posted go in order; 60 size TF ARF with a Evolution 20cc gasser, Retracts & wheels came with the model (at least for the time being) Hitec 645 mg servos & a 9 ch. Optima Rec. Rcexel kill switch for safety And a Hobbico L.i.f.e. 2200mah battery for ign. & rec. The one on the table is a TF GS kit I've been working on since last year is waiting on main retracts from Robart and will get a 55cc DLE RA engine and will most likely be glassed & painted.

Hi Guys,

Went through the posts, my PMs and e-mails and these were the folks that were signed up this evening. If I missed anyone please send me an e-mail with your RCU handle and I will get you added on.
For those of you that were added today please check Post # 2 for your number!

I would like to welcome the following new members to the P-47 Thunderbolt Brotherhood!

Tuskegee
raptureboy

We are already at 60 members in just a little over 2 days and still growing! I am so VERY glad to see all of the P-47 enthusiasts joining up
and all of the FANTASTIC projects they have built or are building now. Guys please continue to keep sharing your projects, any tips and resources on the build,
detailing, weathering and any sources you have found for items you have purchased to bring your P-47 to the next level of scale realism.

If you find a great resource for anything to do with your build from reference material through final check flight we want to hear from you!

*** NOTE ***
I am doing my best to keep up with requests for membership; I am in the shop working on my TF GS P-47 Build/Conversion so if I do not respond
right away you know why. I do check my computer when i come back into my office periodically and I will add you on at that time.
