It's not so few planes to model, but there is so many 47's and 51's over there. Some people just want something different.
Top Flite makes fairly inexpensive models, and they are great quality. So why not to customize these two.

Stevegauth30,
Did you have to modify your existing firewall? I've read the manual for the DLE 20 and 20RA I downloaded from TowerHobbies, and it recommends the Dubro vibration isolation mount even has a drilling template for the mount.

Hello P-47 Brotherhood!

I purchased a Ziroli P47 off the classified and I'm getting ready to fly it. I do not have plans or documentation.

What is the CG range for the Ziroli P-47 ?

The information you are looking for can be found on the Ziroli web site. Copy/paste this into your browser:

Good luck with the maiden, I have the Robart V1 of the Ziroli P47, flies great! Let us know how it goes and provide some info about the plane.

By the way those are the specs for the 92 inch, you didn't mention what size you purchased.

Hey guys,

so I don't know if I ever showed you pics of my P-47 I was so nervous to do the maiden on but here are a couple of pics of her! Did the maiden at Wenatchee Huckfest and it is pretty well known by lots of people now. As a matter of fact I pm some guy that was selling a beautiful PAU edge in some little town by Seattle, just told him I liked his plane and I told him about my Pau and my P-47 I just maidened and his reply was "it wasn't that Wenatchee Huckfest P-47 was it?" So kinda cool. Anyways it's an awesome bird, flys fast haha can do awesome awesome barrel rolls, and loops and even low knife edge passes! I'm very impressed with her and she's gonna get some retracts soon. See y'all, happy flying and someone post up other TF Tarheel Hal's!!!!! I wanna see em in action!

I maidened my 101" Ziroli P-47N Sunday down in Owatonna, MN at the SMMAC field.
Powered by a Brison 5.8 (95 cc) she tracked true down the runway and had a spectacular scale take-off.
I pulled up and around and she never slowed down. I then knew I had a new favorite toy in my collection!
The prop is a Xoar 26x10 and it turned 6000 on the ground. In the air it gave a great roar for every low pass I made.
Unfortunately no one took photos so I'll have to have someone shoot them Saturday at the TCRC Scale Saturday in Jordan, MN.

Peter,
One of my flying buddies had kit-bashed the TFGS P-47 into SNAFU last winter with some terrific results! He did some color matching with latex house paint from the Home Depot and bought it a quart at a time ($3.00).
The result is a very convincing color scheme.
I'll dig up my pictures and post them.

hey guys... My captured TF GS P-47 won Best ARF Bash at the Warbirds over the Rockies event this weekend... YAY!!!

11 flights with this bird over 3 days... smoke system was a hit, big crowd pleaser... came home with all the same parts on my birds ( a few extra dings but nothing too serious)

What did you use for your smoke system and how did you get it to fit?[
- Tank Size?
- What Pump?
- location in Fuselage?

not a lot of room so I put a RotoFuel 16oz tank above the Great Planes 24oz tank (the TF stock tanks seams fail for me all the time)... I had a Sullivan SkyWriter laying around so I used it... I reworked the center section a bit and put a flat piece of ply all the way to the front bulkhead... I built a box for the throttle and choke and glued that in place on the right side (looking down into the fuse). I thought I'd have problems with being nose heavy but I ended up having to put 1lbs weight on the standoffs for a good CG. It's a DA50 but I wish I had a lot more motor. It flies very well and lands even better. I ended up using two Castle 20Amp BECs getting power from to 3s 2200Mah LiPos. She's a keeper!

Nice package Frank! I'd love to see some installation photos so I can go to school on you for my Ziroli.
We have two members who kit-bashed the TFGS ARF into razorbacks as well. One is completely Flite Metal'd and they both are powered by 4.2's (69 cc Sachs ) and they fly great! I'll get some pictures up.

Anxiously awaiting the release of Dino's new 122" P-47! Recently acquired a 102" Meister Scale P-47 W/ GT80 Darling Dottie Scheme (Should have been Daring Dottie). Have a H9 150 Razorback with a Zenoah G38 that is an absolute kitty kat to fly. And lastly a 90 size Razorback that I'm going to stuff a 30cc gasser in.

What model is your Jackies Revenge (size) and where did U obtain the working canopy?
I have one I purchased on RCU but it appears to big for my TF TarHeel ?
My canopy also has some frame work with it but no instructions.

HoundDog,

Actually mine it is also a Tar Heel TF GS ARF P47, I stripped her off some the covering. As for the canopy system it is homemade, just did research on RCU got some ideas from the work of fellows like Mikewart and Tonybuilder and put them together, and up I came with mine, no instructions but it is really simple. I'll be glad to help you if you need it.
here some pictures of the rails made of square brass hope this may give u a hand.

What canopy system you got?

Building a TF .60 P-47 GE Kit at the moment.
Love the Jug.

One of the best looking warbirds ever in my opinion.

Mine will be powered with either a DLE-20 or an OS GT22. I have both new in box begging for an airframe.

Planning on air retracts, glassed, cockpit, but not going all out with rivets etc as it's my first kit build. Have assembled roughly 15 ARF's.
