Heard that complaint about Horizon seems they get 1 or 2 runs on a particular model and then abandon it. I lost the right wheel on my TF 85" P-47 on it's maiden ... Guess what the only part on that plane that TF doesn't have spares for are the wheels. %" x 1-3/16 Wide. Tried 1-1/2 inch Dubros and others the wheel well was too shallow & didn't want to butcher the Wheel Well so I started bugging the distruboter and seemed to get no where but after about a month of a couple calls a week, guess what showed up in the mail. All 3 wheels in one package with out an invoice and a note to the fact "Now stop Bugging us". The only thingI can figure is that maybe they opened a new ARF or Kit for use as spare parts. I did send her a flower bouquet with a thank U note.

Bought a used TF P-47 60-91 ARF with an OS 90 2-stroke and Robart Air/Spring retracts with all the servos. He installed the retracts with Robart wheels which work well but don't allow use of teh included wheel doors. It is great in the air but a challenge to keep it from nosing over in the grass taxiing or landing. I moved the receiver battery pack to a bay just behind the CG and it handles much better on the ground and hasn't nosed over since. It doesn't groove quite as nicely as before but I like being able to land and taxi back!

Flew it last weekend with an enemy aircraft...from the prevoius war. Amazing to think the Fokker Eindecker was introduced in 1915 and only 26 years later in 1941 men were flying planes like the P-47. Both are great fun to fly.

Finally maidened my Robart Jug yesterday. Power is a DA85, finished weight 34lbs with no nose weight required. Power is more than ample and she flies really nicely. Slows down easily for stress free landings.

It's painted as "Jungle Queen" of RAF 134 Sqn in Burma just for something different.

Like the Inverted ground Pics ... LOL anyway what Kind of Weather U have this time of year (Winter ain't it) there in Gladstone, Queensland, AUSTRALIA. Come to think of it there's a Gladstone Michigan Missouri & Oregon USA too.

re the inverted pics, we are in the land downunder

Winter? Gladstone is in Northern Oz so it doesn't get very cold. It's 10pm & I am out in the shed with the doors open only wearing a t-shirt & shorts! If it gets too cool I will put some shoes on At the moment our days are about 77-82 degrees F.

Your right about the Pics I'd never of thought of it but then we don't stand upside down either. LOL
Looks Like Gladstone, Queensland, AUSTRALIA is Pretty much like our South West USA Arizona area I winter in. Mild Winters and un-godley hot but dry summers I would think. Can't walk around bare foot in Arizona though too many cactus needles and scourpians (I can't spell it but U know those little buggers that look like small Lobsters with a stininger for a tail) and rattle snakes. During the summer that is. Good Luck and keep the Greasy side down. No aerobatics with that gorgues Jug. Strafing runs only.

I had to do pretty much the same thing on my first Big Gasser a Lanier YAK 54. Fortunately I only needed was a tear drop cut out on both sides for the plug cap and wire. But then it ran a little hot and I ended up putting all kinds of engine baffling.

Guys From experience with gasser's you best baffle them or they will all run hot, as they are no different than the full size. Just make sure you are directing the air around the cylinder's and a good rule to follow is twice the air outlet opening as what you have going in. I try to get 80+% over the cylinder and the rest around the case.

But that is just me.

I took quite some time to build this warbird but had some health issues and I have never flown it. The ESM ARF's are not your usual ARF's...they take a lot more building and some skills to get right. But, it is now ready to go. All you need is your Spectrum TX and a little gas. There are sepaerate batteries for RX, ignition and retracts. Each circuit has it's own voltage regulator and are powered by lipo batteries with external charge receptacles (Ask me how this works). It has a fully-detailed cockpit and very realistic pilot figure with all the accessories. I have run about 3 tanks of gas through the engine so far just for break-in and testing. Works beautifully ! I also have quite a few extra NEW parts that go with it. It has a really perfect transporter that goes with it too.... no problem getting it to your flying field. I easily have more than the $1,400 asking price in parts alone.

I have a lot of build docs and binder that go with it too. You can see from the photos that a lot of Secraft and other quality parts were used. I will be happy to answer any of your questions about the plane--just PM me.

Thanks Lifer. Yes, I could probably take it to Graves RC, my local HS... the thought of putting dings, nicks and hangar rash on it make me cringe ! Probably the best way though.

I finished my P-47 a few weeks ago. I'm hoping to put the maiden flight on in a few days. (Waiting for a calm day) It's an early Yellow Aircraft. I used an older but very reliable 3W-60 for power, Sierra retracts and sequencer, JR high torque servos for all the controls. I'm guessing it's about 24-26 lbs.This is my first warbird. I'm hoping it flies as nice as everyone tells me it will. I haven't checked the CG yet. Any recommendations? The point where the instructions say it should be seems a bit nose heavy.
