I an unaware of any one making a scale exhaust for that small of a gasser. Keleo used to make them for 50 and up but stopped. He only make radial rings now. There was a guy in Florida, he was very pricey. 500.00 for a scale P51 exhaust for a G62. Good Luck.

Hay Steven,
You may want to think about the DLE 20RA. The rear exhaust DLE 20RA has no running issues. I do know that standard side exhaust 20 cc gas engines have had running issues installed on Top Flight .60~.90 size P-51D's. The fix was to run an air line from the front of the cowl inlet to the rear of the engine bay. Somehow the running engine creates carb issues, with side exhaust engines...but not with the rear exhaust 20cc gas engines. The VVRC 20 ~ 21cc gas engines are good engines. I am running a DLE20RA in my T.F. P-51 and it is running great in the model while airborne with no modifications, other then installing the engine into the airframe. It's a tight fit...but it fits with a little patience.

Bobby of Maui

just build it, keep the outer diameter of exhaust the same as on original and you shall be fine. if it is a 4 stroke, on two stroke you cant do a scale one due to complex calculation needed to do that

I had a old reliable gold box p-51 for 20 or 25 years, ended its life as engine test bed. it was set for onboard glow so I would run all the new engines on it for 50 flights then fine tune the engine and move it to its next home. ran two magnum 120's through it. they are plenty of power. but watch those mufflers! never had a problem with o.s. but the magnum mufflers would come apart leaving the header and front of the muffler still on the engine. lucky though back then o. s. header fit the engine.

I have had mine since it was first released. I am running all recommended Spektrum servos. DLE 55RA with a modified on board starter so it is all enclosed. Eflite gear. Truturn spinner.
I have only had to change 1 trunion in 250 flights. Originally I mounted 20 oz of lead in the nose. This caused the wood to break up. Don't mount lead in the very top nose. These are the only problems I have had in a very long period of flying.

It has been a fantastic airplane.

This is from Warbirds over the rockies 2 years ago. It is still going strong. At least 250 flights on it. I have had to replace one of the gear trunions. DLE 55ra with starter. Spektrum recommended servos. Truturn spinner.

I love this plane.

Thanks. I am sure it's a good kit! Going with a variant of Big Beautiful Doll I think to change it up a bit. Lots of features for the money.

originally wanted the Robart gear as I like the struts better. BUT I think the Eflight single channel programmer for the doors out weighs the scale looks of the Roberts for convenience.

Going with Solo prop for various reasons on a TP70cc 4 stroke. (I have an extra one on inventory and a good match).

radio? I have a couple of brands of 8 channel. Anyone using a Graupner? Been considering trying one for a while and this seems like a good time to do so. (mZ24). It will also be a good fit for the P38 later with multiple receiver capabilities.

Pretty sure you can put the RObarts struts on the Eflite retracts on the giant scale. I did it for the 60. The Eflites kept bending. Last time out I actually bent a Robarts strut hitting a Gopher hole while landing. It was a perfect landing too, gear touched down nice and soft, tail was about to settle then up and over it went on its back.

FYI update on the H9 P51 60cc. Just learned (even though clearly stated on web site it's included) the cockpit is NO LONGER included with the model. Yes, you get a hole and no cockpit under the canopy!!!! Horizon informed me I could order one from Dynamic Balsa for $125! Really? The cockpit kit is also discontinued.
So, for the $799 kit you must add spinner at +$200 and now cockpit for an additional +$125. That's $1125 folks.
Needless to say I am not happy. Can't seem to post a screen shot of the web page showing "painted cockpit" in the list of features but I have it.
Hopefully this will prevent someone else from u during his nightmare.

Customer service at its finest.
Keep the screen shot of the cockpit included and call them on it. It's called false advertising. You need to push them to include it in your order and tell them to fix the advertisements.
Or buy it and dispute the charges and ask for the cockpit to be shipped to you or its equivalent value deducted from your purchase.
I just had a two day battle with FedEx and won over a problem with their website. If you really want to buy this plane you need to be firm with them. It's their mistake and the customer shouldn't be left holding the bag.

If the H9 flies anything like the Top Flite, make sure you reduce the elevator throws to low rate when in the air, or ugly things can happen.
