Here is my TF GS B model at my club's recent Chuck Yeager meet. Picture by our club photographer. WT 28lbs, brushless motor, 12s 5300mah, Graupner 22-12 prop. Data download from the Castle 120 shows it reached 8400+ rpm several times during the flight. Amp draw was 110-115 at full throttle except when I pulled 2 vertical rolls it reached 134 amps briefly. I had to stop at 2 vertical rolls as I couldn't see it well enough to continue on up. It is a blast to fly especially with a Benedini Merlin sound system on board. The build was a D model arf modified with a B canopy from TF and I scratch bilt the rear deck structure. Flight time is 7 min TO to LDG max. Although 5 lbs heavier with the E setup performance is very similar to the DA 50R that used to pull it.

Getting back on the horse with mine... took some time off over the summer doing kid things and whatnot. Originally had a DLE 55 on the front and I decided to upsize to a DLE 61. A few little things left to do before the first flight.... finish up the plumbing for the retracts and also the flap and aileron extensions. Really would like to find some wing filets as mine were damaged in the original crash. Also, where is a good place to find an affordable pilot? Not looking for $70 here!

I'm flying my TF p-51 about 1/4" in front of the recommended 4 9/16" at the break in the LE. Tried moving it back today to the 4 9/16" mark. Seemed to make the elevator a little bit sensitive so have to do more testing. I like the way it flies 1/4" ahead of the 4 9/16" mark but it seems to make it harder to make a no bounce landing. I'll let you know where I end up. 76 flights on her as of today.

Thanks Chad, yeah its going to be next season I think, no time right now and the season is closing out on me here. Leroy left a couple things to do like break in the engine, fuel tank, TH servo and linkage, tail gear doors and paint them and the canopy has needs a locking system. Plus I'd like to paint the missing belly and tail stripes and add some simple weathering.

Hey guys!
I was was out at my flying club today and brought out my 50cc extra. Guy out there had the Hangar 9 1.50 sized mustang all electric. We did a formation flight for 2 passes and I pulled up to give the guy room to turn left, but I just saw him do a full throttle snap roll into the ground. Anyways to make a long story short it was something wrong with his Spektrum radio. The flight before he flew a different plane, and it did the same thing. Poor guy went home with 2 less airplanes. Anyways he gave the mustang to me to fix and get fkying again... Gonna be a long time but I have had my p-51 crash 4 times like nothing left of it and I rebuilt it, so I'm gonna do the same with this except change the color scheme to the Red Tails Tuskegee scheme!

Yes I can. It will take time but I have crashed my P-51 4 times and two of which there was just pieces, and it's still flying after 4 crashes. Oh yes I see myself in the ama magazine with a little picture of the plane in there saying "second chance flies again" lolol, no I'll get her flying again, don't y'all worry.

I have seen worse wrecks than this one and they were put back together and flew better than it did before. What a lot of people don't know is that we are where we are today because a lot of us have the building shills to make this plane or any other plane fly again. If you have the money to keep buying ARF's and filling the dumps with your busted plane, that's OK with me. I'm sure there are a lot of guys that would like to learn how to rebuild their wrecks so they can make repairs to them again instead of throwing them away. Ask around where you fly and see how many of the pilots that have been flying 30 years or more can help you....

Thats an easy fix, it still has most of the pieces intact. My 4*120 is missing the fuse from the cockpit forward and has the outer wing panels mostly intact, yet I can repair it in a few day. My P51 was snapped in half, and in 4 hours have it ready to fly again. I snap rolled mine into the ground too, but I think the problem is the plane and not my flying, the elevator has a twist to it, and it has very little throw. I just pulled back on the stick a bit to climb and over it went, at full throttle.

Yea well I've learned after stripping the covering it's pretty bad. I think now it will be a miracle if it flies again, but we'll see I can probably make my own pieces but that will take a very long time, anyone think a TF giant p-51 cowl would fit this plane? Hangar 9 150 mustang

Don't get me wrong im a pretty good builder myself having built a few scratch built planes, one from RCM plans service and another I built a fuse for a wing that came from H9 Tango. Im building a fuse to go to a GP Stik wing but im making the wing a bottom wing and make it a tricycle retract set up, so I can build and repair planes that is not much of a problem but I guess I have my limits.
I had a inclination that your plane will take some fair amount of deconstruct to get to where you have to rebuild from but hey if you have the magic touch I will be happy to sit back and watch your end result and please show a couple of pictures of the repair process I am very curious as to how it goes and how it looks when you are done and ready to fly it.
