haha.. those pics are from a Warbird and Classics event nearby... I painted the terrible weathering the next day.. haha... still on the plane... I'm practicing with a new airbrush and compressor.. It's a Paasche gravity feed airbrush... I'll try again when I'm feeling a little more confident

Well I flew mine a couple of sessions. It really is a nice flying airplane. I was just doing touch and goes the last time I flew it and it was just rock solid and I was greasing them on both wheel landings and three point. On about the 7th landing I let it get just a little too slow on short final and it snapped and went in. Didn't hurt the engine bent the gear truniun on the right gear but destroyed the wing and fuselage. I have the new one ready to go and will fly it this week. I'll keep the airspeed up on final from now on. Don

This thread really seemed to die off. I have a zero coming shortly, putting a dle-61 in it with Sierra main retracts. Also planning on doing the dynamic balsa cockpit, that looks really nice.

I think one of the biggest turn offs for the plane are the price of the robart retracts. I went with sierra, cheaper than the robarts and made out of billet aluminum with a big air cylinder. Awesome gear, he has them in stock and ready to ship for this plane. I should get them next week and I will post pictures. I noticed some pictures with the wrinkles in the covering but when its going by at over 100mph you wont see them lol.

Robarts Electric Retracts #ROBQ1649 - $649.95
Robarts Pnuematic Retracts #ROBQ1 - $469.99
Sierra 1/6 Scale Pnuematic Retracts #1/6 Zero Mains - $480 (for Yellow Models)
Sierra 1/5 Scale Pnuematic Retracts #1/5 Zero Mains - $570 (for Ziroli Models)
Not sure where Sierra retracts are cheaper; unless I'm quoting the wrong Sierra Retracts?

I didn't know that, so when you ordered them, what was the Sierra Model Name/Number; Cost; be sure to post some pictures, if they are cheaper than Robarts than I'm in for a set as well, as long as they bolt right in or close to it with minimum Modifications needed.

Much appreciate posting the picture, I agree they look great, I will be getting the Sierra's as well, post a picture of the Wheels if you can, When you get them mounted you will have to let us now if they were truly drop in or some modification to the mounting rails had to be done. Again thanks for posting, have a good Thanksgiving!

Let me put it this way. I got everything in the picture plus the robart tail retract for this plane for less than robarts electric mains shipped. Looking at the plane earlier very very very little trimming will be required to make them fit. Mostly the hole in the rib where the air cylinder goes just because the sierra cylinder is twice the size of robart. I cant wait to see how they look on the plane.
