Retract leg - need your help
Hi all
i found probably one of the last ARf kit of kyosho Ta-152
i'm planning to install a DLE20 plus some cockpit details and nothing more.
about the retract, i opted for the e-flite 81° retract designed for H9 me-109 because the angle leg is close to scale if compared to the standard 85°;
now ... i did not resist cutting the wheel bays with scale shape, so a new oleo leg is necessary; the wheels will be the William Brothers Smooth Contour ones (diameter 95mm)
i designed and tested other times home made legs, but for smaller planes.
here below there are the drawings.
one question: considering the dimensions, does this gear hold the plane on landing?
the materials might be steel (diameter 10/8mm) and Aluminum T6 for the milled parts

This TA152 flies very well, and can be landed slowly, and softly, in my opinion, as an engineer, and a Kyosho TA152 owner, i would say 10mm diam, although a tad small in wall thickness, would be suitable,
Its not a highly loaded machine, one thing, this model does NOT like wind, i took off, on a windy day, and the wind just took control, and smacked it into the floor, lesson learned,
Also, keep an eye on the covering, mine lifted, the joints do not overlap enough, or at all, keep it ironed down, and i DO wish they had got the cowl shape better, but, i smashed one, and immediatly went and found another, a rare thing for me with a plane, yes, its that good to fly,
I used the stock mechanical retracts, with no bother at all, but i can apreciate you want the legs more scale, angles and all
Power in mine was an OS120 Surpass E
