Hey Cole,
If you fly this one as good as you flew Paul's............It'll last another 20 years or so. I was stunned to say the least when Paul says here, take the P40 up. I might say, after I saw you fly it, take off to landing. I knew why. You are an awesome Pilot. I've never even been offered to take it off much less land to...................LOL............I can hear all the smart remarks as I'm writing this.....LOL. Can't wait to hear about the Corsair once you get a flight on it and it's on the ready line for events. It was fun seeing you and hanging out witch yuh..........Can't wait till OEAF.

Wow, thanks alot Ron. It means so much to get complimented on what I love to do, especially by my friends and peers. That is one of the best feelings a pilot can have.
It was a pleasure to fly the P40 of Pauls. It is a great airplane and really built right. Another great feeling is when your friends trust you enough to take up one of their babies.
I'm pretty lost for words but thank you very much, Ron. Can't wait to rip it up with you again at oeaf
said it before..but I love my friends!

I have a sierra tail wheel, mains and wheels for my 60cc corsair. I'm going to bash mine to the moon with a 777 radial. Can't wait to fly them together!
I actually figured out my tail wheel assembly for the top flite corsair. Works like a dream...every time
I just aquired another H9 razorback and I'm going to bash that one before the corsair.
My top flite corsair goes up this Saturday and hopefully my spitfire will also...2 maidens in one day? Whoo!!

Thanks Frank,
Your words are kind and your approval is what we like from our peers. I would be glad to share all secrets about putting on Flite Metal. The biggest secret of all.............Do it exactly like they tell you in their instructions. The rest just comes with experience. I to hope the maiden goes well, go a lot of hours and blood sweat and tears tied up here..........LOL

Those that know me know that my favorite plane is my TF GS FW190... over 250 flights, numerous significant repairs, some bashing and lots o learnin'!!! Historically my biggest problem was ground loops on landing... those long struts aren't conducive to glassed landings by any stretch of my imagination... 1 out of 20 or 30 flights end up with a broken retract assembly in the wing...
Yesterday I had four flights before packing up and I noticed the tail wheel was real wobbly so last night I rebuild the pull pull and the bent the tail wheel wire a bit (straighten it) and redid the collars, etc...
Today I had 8 flights with each landing better than the last.. what a difference... I have so much ground control now, I'm shocked its' the same plane...
Working on my Scale Masters routine and it's getting better with each flight and I'm really enjoying it...
Membership recommendation: make sure there's no play in your tail wheel.. the impact on your confidence will astonish you!
Lots o love, everyone... hope you had a great weekend!

BTW... on a personal note...
My wife, of nineteen years, and I are splitting up... The last 3 years have been very difficult and I'm out of whatever it is that helps transition this part of a relationship...
I'm looking for a place in Orange County on the cheap so I can stay close to the girls and have room for my planes... If you know of anyone with rental property I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

Corsair update...
I attended a Scale Squadron of Southern California meeting Monday night and saw a presentation from the guys at Wings West RC (Kevin and Dick). They talked about painting/finishing and it was the best 45 minutes I've had in a long time... Turns out that most of the work I do is detrimental to a great finish... Paul Sheffield probably knows this as he is the Master auto restoration guru... and he never told me what I was doin wrong... pfft... lol
so.. They say...
that you use .7oz glass and west systems 105 don't use a card but "dab" the excess resin off with toilet paper... really press the paper onto the surface to remove as much resin as you can... presses the fiberglass cloth closer to the wood and removes resin that will actually weaken the surface the thicker it is...
shoot good primer in 2 passes 20 minutes apart... let dry overnight to do it's magic... wet sand with 320 (new paper better - dull paper will ruin a finish)
if you didn't open any significant spots on the primer shoot your paint
Always clear cote your paint...
So like the idiot I am (and very gullible) I bought $100 worth of primer, a new larger capacity spray gun, and some silver and black paint (ready mix for airbrush)...
wish me luck as I really screw up the corsair now... haha
