A coupe of events ago I ran my ESM LA-7 through a fence, this little mistake, did considerable damage to the front end and also cut one of the wings in half. Its almost ready for final assembly. I have to put the gear and wing servo's in and complete the markings. What I did complete was the painting, I have some touch ups to do with some bleeding under the masking but its taking shape. The teeth were individually masked and cut from vinyl it took awhile to cut them out and put them onto the fuselage. Calli Grafix did all of the markings and the teeth and I used their teeth as templates. The curves did not lend to themselves to applying the vinyl, but using them as a template made this much easier, anyway this is what it looks like now.

Good luck on getting the LA-7 back in the air. I dorked my LA-7 last month, too. Pulled it off the ground before it had enough airspeed and it torque rolled and caught a wing tip.

Yuck hate to see that. I have been surprised a couple of times with the plane lifting off early with this one, that big wing coupled with a bit of wind with an higher than wanted angle of attack, has seen mine come up at what I thought were crazy low speeds. I got lucky real lucky once and got away with it! Sorry you did not share in my luck.

It's been a long while since I've posted here.. sorry...

Wish me luck guys... I'm headed to Florida tonight for TopGun... Im guessing about 40 hours drive and I've got a club mate who's going to team-drive it with me straight through... 2580 miles one way... man! seems like a lot!

So does bouncing my Hanger 9 P-47 150 off a building roof on landing qualify? It was it's second flight and was not quite used to its size being larger than my other planes, and where I thought it was in relation to the building was way off and actually on the other side of it. It's almost fully repaired, reglassed the cowl today, so it needs some sanding and some filling and paint to look good again, and I need to order a wing tube. Beautiful flying plane, was bringing it in to adjust the low to mid range on the engine when the incident happened.

I sure you qualify, I love my H9 P47 150. I have a G62 swing a 20x10 4 blade. By the way they is a guy in VA. that makes cowls for the plane.

Well I have the cowl reglassed and stronger than it was originally. Cosmetically it looks like crap right now, but I have all winter to pretty it up and if it comes out nice I will make a mold for it. The gel they used was dry when they applied the glass so it shattered the outer shell when it hit but the glass remained pretty much intact and held its shape. I added a couple layers of glass inside, and added some epoxy on the outside to bridge the gap between the gel and glass and will sand it smooth when it is fully cured, then level it off with body putty.

I'm heart broken too...three dead sticks in four flights....the last one I landed too soon and too fast taking both gears out along with some wing damage and yes it is a H9 P-47 150!

Ouch, at least the wings are easy to repair, I busted one strut, but was able to repair it.

My struts took a beating also....one is broke right where the bolt holds the gear cover

I had the scissors shear off and had to resolder it back on. Used silver brazing solder and a propane torch.
