I just finished mine with an E-Flite 360, Castle 160 ESC, 2 x TP 6S 5000 Mah in series. I already had some of these 6S for my Habu. Batteries fit perfect in the top hatch and give me about 6.5 minutes of flight time. Have had 4 great flights. The plane still needed a little weight in the nose & then balanced perfect. Have it weathered now and running a 20x10 Mejlik at 7,500 rpm. What an awesome plane!

Is it just me or are have others noticed a distinct absence of interest in this beautiful model?
No one has posted any results on gas powered versions either?
I bought the kit, retracts and Evolution. Everything looks great ----just strange....

I agree, this is such a beautiful airplane! So far the "build" has gone by quick because most of the stuff is done for you. I installed the DLE 35 RA in mine. The retracts are really nice, you get a lot for an arf, 2-sticker sets, 2 different rudders for you to choose the version you want. You get a painted aluminum spinner, and the canopy is painted and cut for you already plus the guns radio mast etc. Such a beauty and it is a hangar 9 plan so I know its gonna fly superb!!! People will catch on once the vids start pouring in.

This is a great flying plane. Built mine with the evolution 33,had my muffler come loose on the 3rd flight and had a hard dead stick landing ripped the gear out and destroyed the wing center section also cracked the fuse in half. I will rebuild this one and glass it . I also have a new one orderd. Everyone will enjoy this spitfire hangar 9 did a great job on this one.

I was so impressed with Paul's spit this past weekend that I just ordered one for myself..going with the same setup...evo 33 up front. This one may even beat the Corsair on the bench..

How much weight did you have to add to the nose? How did you add the weight? Also, any issues with the electric retracts?

Mine will be arriving later today, Oriole I was with Paul and Cole when Paul was flying his, there was no problem with the gear, I believe that there was just over or real close to a pound of lead under the cowl, that was attached to the engine mount (Paul will know for sure). Mine will be electric and I hope if I stuff in some nice big 6 cell batteries under the hatch I will not need to add any weight. Power will be from an E-Flite Power 160, I know the box says its a 10 cell motor, but I have 2 that have been turning on 12S for years and not one issue from the motor.
I am really looking forward to getting this plane up to Sedona for the May fly weekend, looks like we could have some nice formation time :-)

I added a little over a pound of lead to the nose. I drilled and tapped the motor mounts and bolted the lead to them. I didn't have any issues with the retracts,they worked great.

Mine is coming along pretty well, I have the motor box on (Electric) the Servo's are in fuse, the wing center section is on and the gear mounting blocks installed. Paul told me when building his that he had to do some fitting to get the gear blocks to get the gear mounted, I had to do the same. Other than that everything is fitting pretty well, tonight I get the ailerons flaps and servo's in, then maybe the horizontal stabs.

I'm going with a DLE 35 RA. Have had such great luck with my DLE 30 on my Val! Finishing up my first turbine (PST Reaction ARF - Jetcat P-90 RXI), then a few chores around the house I've been neglecting, AND THEN on to the Spit! Looks like a fairly quick and easy build. This one looks like it has plenty of scale features, so I won't have to fabricate them from scratch! Probably just attach gear doors, a nice pilot bust, Sierra GS tail wheel bracket and maybe a little weathering, then I'll be done.
Looking forward to seeing you again. Probably at Terry's meet, if you're planning to go.

Mine is progressing nicely, Hanger 9 did a good job on this one, wings are together, tail wheel is in. I spent the morning making the servo extensions. This afternoon was spent painting the wheels, gear legs and control horns. In a week this one should be in the air.

Ok guys maidened today, she flies superb! Roll out was straight, lifted off no problem. Added a couple of clicks up elevator, a few clicks of aleron and she was flying great! she did not ballon with flaps on, she did come in a little hot. I added a little more flap for the next flight. Flew straight and true, goes where you point her, turns were wide and scale like. Very nice plane, I am very pleased on how she performed and boy is she a head turner at the field!
