Has anyone fitted a decent (roughly) full cockpit to one of these yet? I have a Laser 180 Four Stroke looking for a home till I'm well enough to build a proper Brian Taylor Spit. The thought of spending a silly amount of UK money on one with a head & shoulders pilot bugs me.

Mine is almost done. I opted for the evolution because I wanted to keep the engine totally inside the cowl with no holes and this engine will allow that where the DLE will not. The muffler had to be modified some but that's all and it looks so clean..The front carb and standard mounting design allow for a little bit tighter fit than the DLE

I got mine, gonna put the Saito FG 30b in mine, got most of it done will take some photos and upload soon. Engine goes in well, just has cylinder heads out a bit, although this will help with cooling.

Wish he would have told me that before I put about 35 flights on my Beaver.
My first EVO so I built the Beaver on wheels and flew it for a couple weekends straight before rigging the floats. I figured if I was gong to have issues, dead sticks over land would be a lot less stressful than on the water and it's easier to walk than row.
It ran so well I had no hesitation putting it on the water.
I only have a handful of flights on the Spitfire, probably 5 or 6. It needed some needle tweaking but it ran fine the last time I had it out.
Edit: there's pictures of both the Beaver and the Spitfire in my Facebook album.

First photos of mine, along with the Inzpan cockpit kit, ordered the cockpit kit rather than the more complete version as I know I'll have to adapt it to fit!.....
First impressions...much better than the 150 Mustang, better build, covering and overall packaging. The eFlite retracts are quality items. More to follow soon!

Hi Bryan
I got mine through www.inzpan.com but the website appears to be down at present.
I believe this is the same site http://www.aerocockpit.com/en/ though. Don't be surprised if you hear nothing other than confirmation of order, it'll get to you after 2-3 weeks.

WOW! That Aerocockpit site has some really nice parts! That cockpit kit for the 1/5th Mk. IX would look killer! Pricy, but very, very, nice.
I think I'm just going to install a gun sight and a bust in mine. I love doing the full scale thing but I want to fly this honey THIS year!
Just got in the 1/5 scale tail wheel bracket from Darrell at Sierra Giant Scale. Looks very nice.

It comes in two main pieces as shown. The reflector and optical glass parts as well as the crash pad are also included.
I don't have any detail pics of it assembled and painted for some dumb reason but here are a couple of it as used on a WOTR trophy.

Maidened my Spitfire today with the Evo 33. The plane looks and flies fantastic, it does need some runway to take off and you have to fly it in a scale manner on take off, no pulling straight up into the vertical with this heavy plane. Barely needed any trim, maybe a little up elevator but that's it. Added about a pound and a half up front underneath the motor box to balance. Gear worked perfect, the only issue I had was the muffler came loose in the third flight. I used their recommendation for securing the bolts but didn't work, anyone have any ideas? Here are some pics, almost hit the prop on the first landing, just needed more elevator to keep the tail down. All in all if I can keep the muffler on the plane really is a wonderful flying plane. Oh, lastly marking are from Callie Graphics.

I cured a similar problem several years ago by drilling a 1/16th hole thru the socket-head bolts. I re-installed them using high heat loctite and then ran a soft wire thru the holes in the bolts ending with the wire twisted together. Cured the issue. Don't use a gasket though. Use Ultra Copper from Permatex to seal the gap.
