I wonder how much interest there would need to be in the current economic climate for a large expensive/awkward to fly on one engine/evil airframe....nice though it is!
Over here some of us have been pressing YT International to supply a decent sized Mosquito and it seems that there just isn't enough interest in something that size at this time to make it commercially viable.
YT/KMP used to supply this one http://www.ytinternational.co.uk/p38_lightning.htm and a much larger one but they didn't sell all that well here.
Mine's almost ready to go....

80" is way to small, the wing loading would be very high and the model would be a handful. In my opinion it should be at least 100" if not bigger, but then the model would not sell because guys would ***** about the high price.

Nitroplanes used to sell a 90" version that flies well but very stand off scale. Buddy of mine still has and flies this one occasionally. It started as a $215 ARF. By the time it was done, he had over $1500 in it. This one will fly with one engine. It has done so three times. Has YS 70's. I thought VQ and ESM was supposed to make a 100"-110" ws version but have not heard anything lately. Most P38's land easily, but one engine out usually puts them in as they try to power their way out of the situation. A death spiral is usually the result. Once that happens, you're screwed !

and if ESM where to put the hours and $ in and design this P38, how many do you think they would sell? twin sales are far FAR inferior to single engined sales, look at the replies to this thread,

Would love to see a P-38 ARF in the 30cc/160 electric range around a 100"
The Yellow Aircraft model is perfect size IMHO, and is a high end kit. The only down side to the high end part is the cost, and its a little heavy. You'll be into it for a couple G's just to get started.
Something around the same size, less details/lighter at around half the cost would get my attention. It would have to have the right lines and stance (retracts) on the ramp though
Not asking too much.......right?

I would love to add one of these to my fleet, but in reality I wouldn't have the money to buy one, two engines (reliable ones, all the radio gear and of course retracts). I am at the stage that I need to finish what I have and repair the ones I busted. But that would be way cool to see one!

rag top, not asking too much? your asking the imposible, Twins are outsold by their single engined bretheren by 10 to 1, twins come in HUGE boxes, sometimes 2 of them, these boxes take the space of a 2 more proffit single engined brethren in the container, to me at least, with low sales, they are not worth the bother, but Hey Ho, you never know,

I would love to see one available and would drop the $$ on it. The H9 60cc corsair is selling well... Add in the cost of the radial and there is really not much difference. The TF FW190.. is the same w a good radial for power Yes, twins are difficult when one engine goes down. So is a Full Scale and been there doone that in a Beach Duke - It's no different, throttle managment.
100" is fine.. 110". I like around 30cc power personally for a P38 .. Yes, different but I would use 2 YS 175's. I have a P51 with a 175 and I love it!
In short, I think if one was available more would buy one than most think.

Performance Aircraft Unlimited (PAU)(http://flypau.com/) has had a flying prototype out for a couple of years now, but they say it is on the "back burner" for now. It is a 2 X 50cc and it flies amazing!!
