It's been in the list for a while. NOTHIng I can't overcome I'm sure. Ordering build list next. Source for a full cockpit kit? Or is one included? Patrick at Solo Props is going to build me a prop.

What size Beila did you order? Going to be a flying prop? Ordered a 22" Solo for the TP70

Cockpit comes with the kit, its tedious to put together but its nice. A WarbirdPilots.com pilot rounds it out nicely.

That's funny, I was told by Horizon that they no longer supply cockpit kits for this plane. I did not receive one with mine.

Your kidding rite? Scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Guess I will find out for sure. One of the reasons we paid extra over the TF. If you will remeber the first release included the spinner too. It's only money I guess. I will just find one sold by someone other than Horizon.

Not sure they ever even actually included a Spinner. The ad said it included the spinner. But, then they decided to not include it and offer a $200 optional one. When I ordered the $200 one, it came w/o a backplate and the paint was runny and bumpy. You could see where they tried to sand the bumps out. Then when they sent me a backplate it did not even have the edge of the back plate painted. Ended sending the whole mess back and bought a Dave Brown spinner and painted it myself. PITA.

Mine came with a full cockpit. However, as I understand it, you can not order a cockpit kit by itself anymore.

Maybe I should amend my post to say "at the time I got mine they came with a cockpit"

From Horizon: Cockpit is no loner included (even though web page says it is) and it's no longer available. One can be ordered from Zdynamic Balsa if you want a cockpit. Hello? That's another $125 plus shipping.
I have a Zirolli P38 in build. Orders this to keep from distracting to much attention from that build because it was complete.
Its going back and will order something else. $800 add $200 for spinner, $125 for cockpit. Now $1125 BS Top flight $500 w coupon. Includes spinner and add $125 for detailed cockpit. $625. Add in a couple of hours and $25 in parts for sliding canopy to get apples to apples.

I'm out. Consider this a FYI post.

It's been a while for me, but I can't imagine how the completed model would look without cockpit, seat, stick, radio/battery box, etc.)! Yikes!

Given all the complaints, they are probably dumping the model as soon as stock is depleted. That's what they typically do when the complaints start rolling in. It has just taken them a long time to get rid of the stock. IMHO

They cannot advertise one thing and sell another, that's illegal. Call them on the false advertising and get the cockpit either credited off the price or included in your purchase.
Screen shot of the page showing its included is all you need to push the point.
I just had a two day battle with FedEx over this exact same thing with their site and the shipping system not being in sync.
You could make the purchase of the plane and dispute the charge I suppose but just the fact it's listed as included you should be able to hold them to it or its equivalent discount.

Hi ,
My APS weight was 32 lbs and the C of G is per Manual. It flies really well here in the U.K. I used a Xicoy C of G balance scales so it's pretty accurate.

regards

Steve, thanks for the response....I weighed mine yesterday and it is 32 lbs with: 4 X 5000 6s packs, 2 receiver batteries, 1 battery for the landing gear, 1 battery for the sound system..I had to mount the misc batteries in the air scoop to bring the CG aft...otherwise it is very nose heavy and I don't like adding weight, I'd rather move items to get within the CG range. The Main batteries are mounted just in front of the cockpit box. I tried to mount them in the Fuel tank area but again, I was too far forward in the CG range.

The Manual states the forward CG is 6.5" to an aft CG 7" (.5" Range)...do you know where your plane is balanced...Is it near the aft side (7") of the range??

Thanks,
Chris

Chris,
my C of G from memory is 6.5 I have my 4x 5000mah 6s where the fuel tank would have been above the leading edge of the wing. My conversation was done similar to Kalzone in this thread. My Aux batteries 3x 3600 2s and a 6v Life for the lights are all in the battery bay. I'm running a Biele 23x10 4 blade which flies scale but lots of torque. My timer is set for 6 mins and I have 35% remaining in the batteries but fly a mixed Sortie so not fire walling constantly. I have 20 odd flights now and really enjoy flying this Aircraft. I'm now converting the Giant Scale Corsair. If you PM me I can send some pictures of the install tomorrow as I'm flying tonight.

regards

Steve

Steve,
my Mustang is very similar to yours...I too am using a Biele 23x10 4 blade, 4 x 5000 6s ... for the battery installation I didn't want to cut a hatch in front of the canopy for the main batteries, so I have to open the wing to get to the batteries after each flight to recharge. This is just a short term solution until I come up with something better.

I'd be interested in seeing your battery installation and anything thing else.. you can email them to me "czonio@gmail.com" or just post them here to help other modellers doing the conversion.
