Thanks coxco......My kit was in the 170's so maybe they are getting better at this. I kind of figure that this might be a new factory for hanger 9 as these are made in Vietnam. Noticed this when sending mine back on Friday. The outer shipping boxes said "Product of Vietnam" didn't notice this before.

Please I don't see politics.if you can afford it and want it ....go for it.of course there's a bunch of us that can't part with that kind of money but don't it for those who can and want it.there are many pnl planes on the market that cost less .each to his own the important part is to just fly and have fun.i also see they have a corsair for 20 cc at 389.that looks like fun as well.warbirds aren't for everyone

A post # 190 over in RCG measured the engine mount depth at 158mm, this will eliminate several popular rear carb 60cc engines unless a hole is made in the firewall to fit the carb through.

I have been flying GS planes for more than15 yrs. with a hole cut in the firewall for carb breathing, it has never caused a problem. My first 3d plane had a ZDZ 80 with the carb behind the firewall using a spacer stack and longer carb bolts. It never even needed the mixture screws adjusted after the initial break in period.

Well...I just received my new kit from Horizon as a replacement for the first that the covering and wood work were very bad. I am now on hold with HH as the new plane arrived with a stab that has broken and cracked sheeting. The areas that I wasn't happy with are mostly better on this one except for the broken stab. At this point I would NEVER recommend this airplane to anyone. It is just not worth the $850.00 that they charge for it. The 60cc Corsair was really nice.....NOT THIS PLANE!!!!!

Got a call back from HH customer service. All I can say is that I wish every company had the service the Horizon has given me so far. They are replacing both stabs and elevators. When I originally spoke to them (Larry I believe) about the airframe after they received it for inspection he offered to replace the plane or give me credit for something else. He was actually "pushing" me to do the credit instead of getting another Mustang. Wish I would have done that and just tried to sell the retracts (they will work in a Topflite or Aerworks mustang just fine). What a waste of money........

What a disappointment!!!! Next time they bring a plane to market I hope they just bring it out and forgo all the pre release hype. I really wanted this plane, but I think I'll pass.

Mine (#238) arrived without issues and as far as I can tell, most others have as well. Packaging was well designed with adequate protection of contents. Although I must say, it was very hard to disguise the fact that I added yet another plane when the recycle bin overflowed with cardboard and packing material!
