I think Dave Platt and Brian Taylor did a 1/7th scale Spit, not sure of the variant. If I could get a 3d drawing of the canopy then I could print a plug. I have a homemade vacuum table that I could dig out of storage...I'm in the middle of moving into a new home and have to set up my new shop.

Dave Platt did do a 1/7 scale spitfire and it was taken over by Pica. Brian taylor also had a 1/6 spitfire.
Just spoke with Bob Holman. He can still cut the Brian Taylor 65in kit and traplet in the UK has the canopy and cowl.

No problem Pheasant75. I too have been interested In this spitfire and have weighd my options. This design looks great and I can't say much being a Spitfire but I'm hoping the plans have the parts detailed on them ( fuse and wing formers/laser cut parts) like most designers do, otherwise, you midas well build an ARF.
The airplane gods aren't always friendly so if I can't rebuild it, whats the point.

I built the 1/4 D9. The fuse formers information was left out on that design and the plans look the same for the spitfire. Placing them all on a separate sheet would be best. Hopefully they are included for this design.
Hope for the best. 1/7 scale would definitely be the ticket. I want one in 1/5 scale to suit my other birds. But until I see several of these built and flown, I'll hold my reservations. I try not to be the first at any design anymore..

Of course all my plans have the former of all wood ribs of the model , even in Spity plans I have the all panel line and rivets so do not worry , have the all info to build the model ))

Well, it looks a lot better there digitally then the actual Fw190 Dora plans I received some time ago. How do the actual plans look? The details are pretty busy.. How about seperating them and the fuse formers individually on another sheet. Kinda hard to replicate them the way they sit now. Thats how the Dora looked.. like a bunch of circles on top of each other. Cool if you have to replicate one but not all.
I know being a spitfire and its reputation, I'll belly up this thing several times so the sale is in the details.
Otherwise, nice job. Can't wait to see how she flies.

Hi Fokke. What size spinner does your spitfire take and do you supply it? I was also wondering if your cowl & canopy can be ordered separately as I'm thinking of converting my ESM Spitfire to a MK XIV.

Hi , Yes I can sell only the spinner cowl but do you think that my cowl will fit on your fuselage ?

Only suggesting that he is a source for a 1/6 scale 72" canopy for a MK IX if anyone desires it. Your CADD parts and laser cutting for the MK XIV look fantastic. The bubble canopy really sets that version apart from earlier Spits. A MK XVI with bubble canopy and Merlin engine would be a great kit also. It has a non retractable tail wheel, no outer main gear doors which makes it less complicated than the MKXIV to build as well as the early spinner profile. Give it some thought?

YEs it is Seafury , Have more differences between 14 and 16 , not only engine , the rudder and vertical stab is different , and some other stuff
If I start MK 9 in this size I canmake compilation for MK 16

Hi fokke. I had forgotten that the MK IX has a totally different vertical stab so a conversion to MK XIV would be way too much work. I may still be interested in a spinner though depending on the diameter as I have a Yellow aircraft MK XIV as well. Let me know the diameter and a price. If you could email that to me that would be great. [email protected]
Cheers,
Eric.
