That would be doable. I know some the old Great Planes Warbirds kits had partial or all wood cowlings. If it hd a partial it was usually just a one piece lower half with the top half being carved balsa. My House of Balsa AT-6 had a built up cowling and their P-51 may have been the same way.

Yes , it is nice idea the cowl to be of two parts, up like hood and the botum to be a part of fuselage . Will be stronger structure

Since the engine would be more likely inverted have the top half part of the fuselage and the bottom half removable to access the up side down engine.

A cowl made of stringers and ribs/sheeting would be perfect for me, I'm all electric so I don't need to hide a large wet fuel engine. I would be interested in the 1/7th scale if you can come up with some pricing. I would still like to see one of these in flight, any video yet? Any chance of designing a battery compartment towards the front of the fuse?

If the bottom half was removable then a battery tray could be designed into the lower portion of the firewall....hmmm....

Yeah, sorry Rumen, it looks like FlyerInOKC did start something here
My rambling couldn't possibly have anything to do with my own addiction to making wood and glue fly!

It's not an addiction we can stop anytime we just don't want to! And if you believe that I have a great deal I can make you on a bridge, cash only! ;-)

There are some parts I prepared for Rumen´s Spitfire.
The exhaust stubs are available since November 2016, the gunsight will be during next weeks. This one is only printed model for the molds.

Those parts I made are 1/5 scale.
As same as machine guns barrels and exhaust stubs for Bf-109.

Rumen and Jiri
Great job on the spinner and accessories.

Jiri, FokkerRC is currently cutting a 1/5 kit for me and I would like a price for all of your accessories you make for it.
I recently bought a pilot from you for this Spitfire.
You can PM me.
Thanks Jason

Today I made first resin 1/5 scale gunsight for Spitfire Mk XIV. If somebody need this part, I can make it for him as a kit (unpainted with the shield) or done (painted and glued shield). During next weeks I will prepare resin instrument panel for Spitfire.

Probably only painted gunsights. When I list some kit they emailed me, that I´m eshop or proseller. But it looks, that they don´t know anything about the cost of materials and time. The prices would much higher if I would charge some money.
So if you want, I can prepare other gunsight for you. Some Spitfires afer the WWII had gunsight in cockpit green paint and during the WWII they were black.
