If you would like to see the Tri-County RC Flying Club field click on this link: https://goo.gl/maps/2hUNB The address to the field is East County Road 800 North, Mattoon, IL. The field is about 4 miles WEST of Mattoon, IL. The GPS coordinates to the field are 39.491501, -88.468893

We have been working on the field so It will be in tip-top shape for the fly-in. Be sure to look at the pictures. They are from the family day picnic summer of 2012.

We need to know about how much food to get for the lunch. Would appreciate if anyone coming would post here to let us get an idea of how many warbirds pilots are coming.
It's going to be a great day of flying and talking warbirds.
Thanks,
Ralph

I plan to be there, sounds like a nice leisurely day and the corn is short for this time of the year. I have a P-51, P-47, and a Corsair all giant scale that I am bringing.

The corn will not be a problem as it will only be about 10 inches tall. There are no trees or buildings within 1/2 mile of the flying field. Wide open area. I'll have my new Top Flite P-51 there. It's converted to the P-51C "Dody".

Lynn, Thanks for posting. Your P-51's look great. Can't wait to see them flying. We have the field all ready for the fly-in.
Talked to Tom Duncan. He said the Mt Vernon club had eleven planes flying at the Evansville Contest.

Lynn, Thanks for coming to our 1st Warbirds Fly-in and posting on this thread. I plan to post some pictures of the fly-in as soon as I get the pictures from Nick. I think I can post a picture of every flyer and their plane.

Looks like you had a great time. It also looks like a nice start for such a new event at your filed.

Here's a video of my Top Flite 1/5 scale P-51C "Dody" flying at the fly-in. Taken by Lynn Elston. I didn't know he was filming it.
