So, where do you have batteries? Under the cowl?
Last evening I completed Grasshopper and try it balance it. Manual said, that C.G. should be 97- 103 mm from leading edge. I set it in 90 mm from L.E. because it should a "school" airplane for my dad. It balances perfectly in this set.
Before I leave my workshop I glued the wing struts.

Last day I was very busy. At 7:00 a.m. I went to my workshop to glued some window on L-4, prepared a wing joiner, because the tube was too thin. At 9:00 a.m. I loaded my car and drove to an airfield with my friend. I wanted to made some flights with my Eagle Renegade and since 1:00 p.m .to now (11:00 p.m.) I worked on L-4. Very nice day This build it looks like some race.

Grasshopper is almost done. Today I painted scale engines and drilled holes for scale engine and cooling in the cowl. Other step was placing of receiver, RX batteries, ignition and ignition´s batteries of course. Ignition I put on the floor as manual said and receiver with electronic switch of ignition batteries I put on the floor before servos. RX batteries are on the firewall, I fixed them by a one tie. Ignition batteries I put on the special desk over the receiver.

Hi Prekin,
I have this same L-4.... Be sure to check your welds on the lading gear. I had one break and one side of the gear hung down as I flew around to burn off fuel. It's a great plane that flies like a Cub. I used a mix on ailerons and rudder I think 50%.
The only issue I've had is the gear. I replaced all the bolts and added lock nuts to everything and then the weld broke.
Have fun !!

Flight weight is 5625 g (fuel included)- 12.401 pounds. But I had really bad day. Grasshopper is alright, that´s OK, but when we (me and my dad) came to airfield the weather went wrong. Wind, rain and thunder was coming we were waiting here for 45 minuts but it didn´t look, that it would be better, so we went back to home. The next opportunity for maiden flight will be next weekend.
Another long week of wainting.

Here is one picture from yesterday. It is last moment when was the sun shining. Here is Grasshopper without dummy engines for now.
The yellow nose- I know that is not historical paint scheme, but this yellow nose could be good mark for my dad. His sense of sight is´nt perfect so he will see L-4 easier with this yellow nose.

Hi Prekin,
I don't have any video of the L-4.... I have lots of videos you may enjoy though Looky here https://www.youtube.com/user/JoespeederII/videos
I have to fix the L-4 gear and finish my ESM LA7. I will get that one in the air this year if it kills me. I started out the year with 6 which were new or needed to remaiden after a rework and I've been chasing things all year.
I'm down to a WWI Pfalz and the LA7.
Then it's just flying, tuning, and maintenance.
I'm looking forward to seeing your L4 video. I reinforced mine in anticipation of using it as a glider tug.
