Jeff, here is a link to the maiden take off I promised of your Vindicator. Sorry it took a while, but my internet connection at home was dropping out a lot over the weekend.

How does the CG feel on it? Watching the take off it looked"twitcy" in pitch and dragging it's bum a little?
Beautiful landing, well done. I'd be nervous as hell with a new model like that.

Aircraft markings have been used to identify where a plane is from since the early days and are still used to do so. Initially it was squadron number and tail colors, as in your plane's 3-B-13 and white tailplanes indicating the Saratoga. In WWII, with the increased number of carriers, it became tail and wing markings, such as an arrow, diamonds, stripes, etc on the vertical tail and wing opposite the "star and bars". Today, an aircraft's home is designated by a two letter code on the plane's vertical tail(s). My squadron, VAQ-130, sported an NE while attached to CAG-2 in 1984 and then a NG for the next three years when attached to CAG-9. In both cases, our home carrier was the USS Kitty Hawk and was again in January 1987 when she departed Sand Diego for an around the world deployment ending in Norfolk VA for a major refit. The next deployment, the planes carried the code AC for CAG-3 on the USS Kennedy. One bit of trivia, all present codes designate the coast the CAG operates in, all N* codes are in the Pacific while all A* codes are in the Atlantic

Jeff,
You really need to approach spending like the government. You didn't spend $3300, you save $800... by not buying the Moki!
And, since you have an extra $800, you can now buy that other engine (works for the government!).
The government is the only entity that will tell you something that you already know, and charge you for it!
