Got home today and packed up for the weekend. So i decided to do a bit of work..

First up was turning some tools in the lathe for stamping the litho details. First up was the riveting tool. This is just a piece of steel turned down to .1053830284" in diameter.. Roughly
The other is about .2" in diameter with a hole in the center. This is to replicate screw heads and washers as you can place a phillips or slotted screw head in the center.

And the results of the tools.

Then i started tranferring rivet lines onto the panel, these two are done other than cutting out some of the hatch panels and stamping in all the details:

Thomas are you planning on making a composite wing as well? If not, I recommend just not putting the rivets on. Builders will be hard pressed to match the wings with the glass fuselage you provide. Just my thought. Vic

Vic,
not at first. The wing isnt correct in how the TE kink is positioned and i need to redesign the majority of it to allow more space for my landing gear.

After spending all morning and early afternoon doing nuttin, i did some work.

What you see below is the vast majority of the afternoon of laying out and stamping in rivet details. All duplicate panels are done (except for cutting out access hatch panels on those that have them (all of them)) so once i get the gunhood fiasco fixed, ill start applying panels. Many of these panels have countersunk flat head screws in them, so ive got a couple hundred #0 and #1 screws and washers to purchase as well.

I spent a few hours this after oon correcting the gunhood. Instead of reglassing all of the new exposed balsa, ill just put a litho panel over it to seal it in place. The gunhood requires a bit of filler and sanding so ill do that later on.

Shoot me a PM and we can work out the details. Mine were 3d printed, and are a kit. Could be used to duplicate the parts and make more.

I had some guy print them a year ago. They are a little grainy, but not bad. I was gonna install one in my TA 152 wing, but my prototype variant had no guns on it. So I planned to use them on a Holman D9 I have.

ahh ok. If they were 1/4 scale id take one!

ive got the files for the guns under the gunhood for i believe the early model Antons. I never bothered doing the guns for the later variants as 99% of the people would never know the difference.

Yah, hinging that wing gun cover would be easy. And it would look cool. Yah, I really do not have any 1/4 scale ww2 planes in my future. 1/5th is as much size as I can support right now, especially considering I have quite a few models in that size.

Invert,

I know Dave Anderson a little bit and he would be proud of how this is turning out.

I am hoping to get up to your neck of the woods for one of your fly ins, so Dave himself can see mine. He has been unbelievably helpful during my build, and very generous.

Thank You for a very enjoyable read. I can't say enough about your work, it is just awesome. I never saw a top gun quality build, very impressive. I will follow your work.

Vertical,

You'd be more than welcome to join us. We get a nice group from your neighborhood. The fly-ins and our facilities are basic but the atmosphere is hard to match. Dave is a great guy and a foundation of knowledge that he shares with anyone who will listen. Very nice example of the good side of our hobby.
