I dont have any three views for the 152 that show i. They all show it overall RLM 76, or whatever code the sky blue is.

I do remember reading in a few books that aft of the main spar was bare metal, along with the wheel wells. The wheel wells on the survivor are clearly not bare metal, but they also arent the typical interior color for german aircraft either, so im inclined to believe they were painted by its captors later on.

Yah, the color sprayed in areas of the captured TA looks like a chromate. As it could vary in shade to a large degree so I have been told.

I just purchased a color chip book, that is approved by the scale board for competition. Interesting how different the colors vary from book to book. This color chip book I have, is what the judges are using to define a particular color. I am glad I got clued in to this, as the paint that I had lined up for my project, was not close to the chips I will use for competition.

I am gathering all of these things now, paint, nomenclature, and paint masks. Although fairly simple, I am going to drop the money for get stencils to do my paint masks to save time.

Yea i just got a color chip book as well.. surprised it doesn't match anything else i've got. I'll be doing the paint stencils as well, but for the cost of a set of stencils, i'll buy a vinyl cutter and materials (under $250/300) and do them myself.

Hmmm.... you have a lead on such a machine? That is pretty cheap, especially if you can get a few orders to pay for it. I have never looked into a vinyl cutter.

So Invert, Do you compete? I know there is some activity in FL, but it seems the real hotbed for scale is the midwest. Ever been to the AMA nats? I will be there this summer.

Canopy mold turned out very nice. Here is a closeup of the screw detail on the frame.

All the molds have been prepped with the frekote mold release and all but the spinner mold had a coat of primer put in.

While the primer dried, i finished the horizontal stabs by adding the 1/2" TE piece for the hinge gap covers, then capped all of the areas thst would be exposed after glassing with .010 and .005" G-10.

Then they were glassed and peel ply applied (no photo).

I also did all of this stuff:

Cowl:

Supercharger scoop:

Canopy and gun hood:

I have to be up at 4am for work, so ill pull some peel ply and pop the gun hood out and post up a photo in the AM.

I popped the gunhood free before leaving for work.

A few imperfections from airbubbles, but i know how to eliminate those on the next parts.

A little final trimming and it will fit perfect to the fuse. Now i can add the last two litho panels to the fuse. Ha! You guys thought I was done

3D printed part is done and tack glued into place. A little adjustments and it'll be a perfect fit. Here is the canopy frame out of the mold and sitting on the fuse.

The 3D printed part in the canopy part.

The other half of the horizontal stabs were glassed as well.

Invert, did you use a fixture to shape the litho around the stab/fuse transition? I am trying to work that spot out now. Any tips would be great.

Nope, just worked the metal. You've got to anneal it to get it soft enough to work, then you have to cut a panel about 1/2" larger all the way around so as to keep it small enough to work without wrinkles, but large enough to cover the area. It also has to be done in gwo pieces, just like the real one.

I did the second set of parts last night and just pulled A few. Gunhood came out 100% perfect. Cowling is 99% perfect, Supercharger scoop was never a problem. Im waiting on he 3D printed frame to pull the canopy fairing.
Now that set two is done, ill work on set three here in a bit.

Gunhood photos:

Here is all of the second run of parts. These turned out immensely better than the first set. Everything but the cowling is 100% free of surface defects and essentially ready for paint.

The stack of parts is getting larger. These are the three setw i have currently done. I'll do 2 more and that will get me caught up with everyone who has said they want one so far.

That's probably the most expensive and labor intensive parts shelf that I have ever seen.
