lol! It'll slow down once i get to the molding point.. Then it'll slow down again once i start designing the internal wing layout.

All major lithoplate panels are now done and attached to the wing panels:

At this point, i've got about 150-200 screws to put in place and do some hatch latch's around the gun bulge panels and these wings will be ready for waxing and parting planes. I hope to get the parting planes for the outer panels done tomorrow.

Wings are DONE! Well mostly. I believe i am going to lightly engrave the litho panels where i want the servo hatches to be. I need to look and see where i want these panels to be first though.

All three wing sections have been waxed 3 times over. I then decided to mold the center section first as it is the more difficult of the three. So, the bottom side is going to be done first. Here it is just prior to alignment key placement and parting plane waxing.
Currently, the PVA is drying so i can get the bottom of this molded today and the top tomorrow as work is expected to be busy next week.

A freshly laid mold has got kind of a serene feeling to it.
Like something covered in a blanket of snow.

Here is the bottom mold half after removing it from its cradle and removing all the parting planes:

8 hours later, the top half is done:

I also realized ive only got about 2 gallons of epoxy left and i ran out of 3 different weight fiberglass cloths.... So another stack of hundreds worth of orders go out the door....

Outer wing panel parting planes are done. I just need to fill the small gaps, put the locating dowels on, wax them and these are all ready for molding.

I also drilled the clamp bolt holes in the center section mold flanges. I then opened the mold and removed the plug.

The past week has been busy with work, so today was the first day ive had in a week to do anything in the shop... It was actuLly kinda nice not having to go out there as it allowed 7 days for the outer wing molds to cure more.

So, today i opened the outer wing panel molds, washed all of the wing molds and prepped them all with frekote. They are now All ready to have templates made and then layups done. Im still debating on how the center wing section structure is going to be done, so that will be the last section i do. The outer wing panels i have a good idea on how it will be done.

At this point, all but two molds are done. One of them is the flap spar mold, the other being the cowl fairing. I was going to have the flap spar mold machined from aluminuk, but the machinist i was going to have do that has gone MIA, so im going to have to resort fo 3D printing the plug and doing a conventional mold.

Top wing skin layups were done today, removed from the vacuum bag and then trimmed. Tomorrow I will do the bottom skins.

First layer is 3/4oz, then the rest is 3oz. Core material is just under 1/8" thick

All of the CAD work for the outer wing panel structure is now complete. Here are the mockup internals used to verify fit:

I also cut out the ply outer wing panel parts using the cnc router.

I added on more rib at the tip of the main spar, here is the final mockup version:

Then cut out all the wing parts at my buddy chris' house:

We also cut out enough parts for 3 more horizontal stabs:

I then assembled all of the wing parts into the wing:

Tomorrow i'll hysol it all together and close the wing molds.

Stronger and lighter. It also doesnf have a grain, so its strength is equal in all directions And its available is sizes way bigger than a balsa sheet so it doesnt have to be joined go make up large parts.

yup, everything is cut on a cnc router. It could probably be cut with a laser cutter as well, but i havent tried as i no longer have access to a laser.

I recut the rib at the tip of the main spar, this one fit perfect. I also adjusted the cad files for the last of the refinements.
I then upgraded my carbon tow wetter to fix the pitfalls it had the last time i used it.

Then using some carbon Tow, i applied this along the leading edge of the wing skins and the trailing edge. I then used Hysol to glue all of the structure parts together and then to glue it to the wing skins. I then used a ac clamp to clampe the aileron area's tight against the TE spar.

I'll leave this to cure for a few hours (6) and then i can pop some wings out!
