The mockup landing gear is all printed, so once i receive the machined wheel rims and get the tires made up, i can begin determining the center wing structure. I've got to joing fuselage #2's halves first though.

i havent forgotten about you. I had to find a new machinist as the one i was going to use for the struts has become dificult to work with, so the 1/5's make take awhile longer.

The wing center section top skin is done:

then i set my wallet on fire cutting out all the glass and carbon fabric pieces as well as the airex core materials and all the stuff associated with vacuum bagging it all:

my machinist also sent me some photos of the nearly completed main landing gear rims. Still left is some finishing and ball bearing installation.

Center section structure mockups are done. Still lots of fine tuning to do, but one step closer.

Thomas will you cut out the landing gears doors on the wing kit your offering?

D,
I hadnt planned to, but i can if need be. With the hot knife it doesnt take much effort to cut them free. Its the sanding of the edges to open the gap that takes the time

The stack of parts cut out for the next two sets of wings. This is only about 80% of it.

Ivertmast,
Looking good. Do you have a better feeling when you'll have a full set of kit parts assembled; airframe, main and tail gear, wheels, etc. I'm budgeting for either your Ta or a GTM SE5 and I need to make a decision before Glen offers me one of his highly sought after kits--possibly within the next month or so.
Thanks,
Lynn

Lynn,
At my current rate, i can have an airframe kit done in about 3-4 weeks after the initial deposit is received. I have about 3 more weeks till the current kits are done and could begin another, it could and hopefully will be less than 3 weeks if work remains the same as it has.

Landing gear i am still fine tuning the design and hope to have by November at the latest. The more of these i order at a time, the better the deal i can offer everyone.

Understand, Thomas. If I recall, didn't you say that the quarter scale Sierra mains and tail wheel will fit your kit? If true, that would be a safe fall-back solution if for some reason your gear designs either couldn't be economically executed or might have an inordinately long wait for delivery. I just don't want to end up with a kit for which I could not obtain, suitable and useable landing gear. I'll keep watching with increased interest.

Thanks,
Lynn

The sierra gear will fit, but im not offering nor designing the structure for the sierra gear, that'll be completely up to the builder to determine.

My gear cost wise is just a little more expensive than the sierra gear when purchased in sets of 10, if purchased per set, its significantly more, but not astronomically absurd.
