Very nice job. I also have this kit. Would you be willing to make and sell a set of the exhaust stacks.

Thanks for the kind words RKoz. My Spitfire isn´t kit, all formers and ribs I cut by myself. If someone want the exhaust stacks or some other composite parts, I´m able to make them.

I don´t know the price right now. But I´m sure it won´t be more than 20 US Dollars, I would like to reach so low price as it possible. I hope it will be about 15 Dollars per one set of exhausts stacks.

I have the BT 83" Spit kit as my next project so I'd be interested in a set or two of those beautiful exhausts. Wonderful work on your plane so far!

Thanks DaddySam,
next week I must find out the price of shipping to U.S.A. and probably after weekend I will be able to send some of sets. I going to prepare the fiberglass cowl, chin scoop and canopy with fibreglass frame.
Follow this thread and you will know more information.

Prekin,
I am following your thread with great interest. Your skills are way above mine so I am learning quite a bit. I'm looking forward to watching your progress. Maybe I should wait until you have your other parts fabricated in order to save on shipping them separately!

Hi Guy's,
Can any one tell me that the Spitfire Parachute that the RAF used in WWW11 did they sit on the chute or was it at their back. I always thought that they sat on their chutes. Reason is I bought a 1/6thy Parachute for my WW11 Spitfire RAF pilot and it is at the back. He doesn't sit on it at all.
So who can help here??

John, I read some books about Czechoslovak pilots and their said, that they was sitting on the parachute. So I think, the parachute was in the chute. The pilot seat in Spitfire was made from wood.

Sonny, thank you. There are some better guys than me, but thank you for the compliment. I will update this thread but the works go slow. Thank you for patience.

Does anybody know the price of Bob Holman´s set of Brian Taylor FW-190 scale 1/5?

I had a BT spitfire set up with functional exhaust stacks on a ZDZ 50 motor. Plane went down couple years ago and have no need for these stacks.
If interested, email me and I will send pics. Looking to get $40 for the 2 stacks. They are heavy, but work great. I had to add couple pounds of lead to the nose even with the heavy scale exhaust set up. You got to build the tail super light to keep wing loading down.

Here is my BT Spitfire. It had a DLE 50 and weighed 24 lbs. It was the best flying plane I've ever flown. Taxing was another story though LOL. She was painted with all primer. then clear coated. The squadron letter on the front was an air inlet. The exhaust was made from copper 45s shaped with a hobby hammer. Like a fool, I sold this plane to fund another project.Dumb, Dumb, Dumb.

Here is a link to my build thread if intrested http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...fire-mkix.html

Prekin,
Excellent work on your BT Spit! A few years ago I built 2 BT Spits and they are a delight to fly!

Bob Holman does not offer a Brian Taylor Fw190 in 1/5 scale, his Fw kit is from Don Leen and has glass fuse and foam wing. I also built 2 of those!

Thanks for your thread Thunderbolt, it would be helpful.

Jose, I wrote Bob some email and after some day he answered. He confirmed that he he also cut enlarged BT FW-190, scale 1/5. Allwood laser cut kit with canopy, fibreglass cowl and aluminium spinner. But when I asked him about the price unfortunately he stopped the writing. I don´t know why. It was my the first experience with Bob and I think, it was also the last.

Guys, have you already seen this film? http://www.condor-entertainment.com/spitfire-le-film

Prekin thanks for all the great work you are detailing here! It's fantastic to see (and thanks to other posters who have some great contributions as well). By the way the film you shared here looks amazing. Will purchase!

One time I saw this film on youtube but without English subtitles, so it would be the same for me as look at it without sound.

I enjoyed the book very much, it captures the BoB atmosphere from a first person perspective and has a lot of details about the Spit

The film is OK, it only captures small sections from the book and the flying sequences are CG

For the Spit IX I thoroughly recommend Pierre "Clo Clo" Clostermann's the Big Show

I´m going to make a fibreglass mold for the cowl, so I hope it will be well done. In the other picture you can see a mold for plastic canopy.
I´m also going to make a dummy radial engine. One this scale engine I have on my ESM Dauntless.

As you can see, the chin scoop and cowl molds are in progress right now. The chin scoop will be available during this week. The fibreglass cowl I would like done during next week. It is in two half mold so it needs much time.
