BT 83" Spitfire Mk.IX SQN no. 312
Hi all, I decided to build Brian Taylor Spitfire MkIX in marking of no. 312 Czechoslovak Squadron RAF. The pilot who flew Spitfire DU-L MJ931 was F/O Ladislav Svetlik. On March 23 in 1944 he was the first Czech (Czechoslovak) pilot who achieved the first Czechoslovak aerial victory on Spitfire MkIX. He shot down Georg Kiefer´s FW-190 from 1st Staffel JG 26.

Formers are done. I made the from light 3 mm (0.118") plywood. Now I can put them together and I try to set up the fuselage.
I don´t follow the BT plan in every detail, so you can see, that I made the formers little bit different.

Hello Prekin,
I wanted to ask you about the spinner. I have read some bits on this forum about the spinner. Your plans are 1.5.3" to scale from Brain. That guy sure does it right.
I was thinking about the short kit. But right now I still have not made up my mind.
Cheers

Gee Prekin, You sure know what you are doing. Thanks for the reply. I'll keep checking in and see where i can buy the plans from. I think it was Bob Holman I think that was his name.
Take care

Here you can see the plastic bottle which I´ll use as a fuel tank. I´m used to put the fuel tank into C.G. Volume of this bottle is 500 ml (16.9 fl oz), so the full weight could be approximately 500 g (17.6 oz). So the part of the construciton of the fuselage is a mouting box for the fuel tank.

Thank you guy for the kind words. In following pictures you can see how I´m getting the formers together. It´s necessary tu put each central line of each former to one common line. This common line you can see in every plan. Other common line is line of the wood support.

Now I know, that the scale 1/5 is not the same as 1/5.333 (BT Spitfire).I purchased some exhaust stacks. They are 1/5 scale and I can see the size difference. They are too big for this Spitfire. At the first time I thought, the size will be more similar, but I was wrong. So my mistake.

This pilot was recommended to me by TFrame. He has already built BT Spitfire. The size of the dummy pilot is not so big problem, because it made from three pieces- legs, body and head. So I can use only the body and head. And other point is that the pilot could move his seat higher or lower. So this could offsets the size of dummy pilot.
