I can't load the stinking picture. From former f5 which is near back of canopy go forward in 7 inch increments. The corners will be directly below inline with fuse corners. They lie at 7 inch increments and f2c and f2b which is split line lies 4 1/8 inch behind f1. They have changed the mobile site and I can't go advanced. I have perfect pictures to load.

I finished all my air lines and have my sequencer hooked up without the struts or gear doors to just check the timing of movement. I installed air line restrictors in each line at the air valve. even with the needles removes and 100 psi the cylinders operated so slow and only 1 at a time. I will remove the restrictors and drill them out to .030" which is about half the tube size. that way I can fine tune with the needles and I need more volume. I don't care if I only get 2 flights out of a fill I want to run no less than 80 psi and with testing yesterday it loses about 8 psi for 1 cycle. I am now doing a 24 hour leak test and BVA oil company is sending me a refined mineral oil with anti moisture additive that I will put in the system to keep corrosion to a minimum and keep the o rings lubed. I did a lot of investigating and have decided this route. it is food grade lube and had no esthers in it. I have a feeling it is same as trumpet valve oil.

Tony it looks just great. I contacted BVA oils in Wixom Michihan and talked with a guy who then said send an e-mail. two hours later I get an e-mail from the president and he suggested he send me a 4 ounce sample. three to four drops into the coupler in each side will last and last and never gell. I will see if I saved his email and post later if I have it. your plane looks tough, and you say its a ready to cover.....very cool work.

How close to true scale are these Wheel Wells & where did U obtain the Corrigated Like yellow material for the inside of the wheel well? Great Job. Wish I had that talent. Do U suppose it would be possible to build a Unit L&R gear doors cylinders ready to just drop into a cavity in the wing, with out loosing the structural integrity of the wing?

U are speaking of the Pull Pull cables are LOOSE when the tail wheel is down. Correct?
The cables are supplaed to be real loose when the Tail Wheel is retracted so that the wheel doesn't turn while U use the rudder in the air. On mine I put the Tail Wheel Servo in another Channel than the Rudder so I could Set up the Tail Wheel with different throughs than the Rudder when on the ground.
Hope this helps, but I'd put turn buckels between the ends of the servo arm and the Tail Wheel Cable ends.

What I do is run the cable thru a small brass eyelet I get at fabric store along with waist band elastic. Its flat and 3/8" wide. I glue eyelet into hole I make on fabric. I do this for each pull cable then I screw into former so its stretches as gear goes down. It then holds cables taught so tailwheel does not go left or right while inside fuse. Make elastic 2 inch long. Screw each end into top and bottom side of former. Eyelets in center. Keep aligned with servo arm and tiller on gear.

Dodged a big bullet today!
No matter how many times I fly the TF P-47 at our club field with no problems, as soon as I go to a fly in or meet things go crazy. Today I flew at a local meet and sure enough first flight the bomb drops wouldn't work and the retracts started acting up. I landed and checked out the problems and couldn't really figure out what was wrong. I flew another flight and this time I noticed that the elevator wasn't responding like it should...it seemed like I wasn't getting enough pitch control. I landed and this is what I saw.....

All four CA hinges on one elevator had failed. The only thing holding the elevator was the control rod and horn. Lucky I had two separate independent elevator servos and linkages.
I had that nagging feeling in the back of my mind when I installed the CA hinges that I was screwing up. Now I at least get to redo all the surfaces using the right stuff.

OH there plenty of big air planes flying with CA hinges and they work perfectly fine I purchased a used, 3 flights, Giant Ultra Stick Light with a DLE-30 (A little big but what the heck, the left thumb is for throttle management anyway). Anyway on further inspection I found the top rudder CA hinge broken so I replaced all 3 with Robart points. Not saying they cant pull out but they won't break either. Much less chance of flutter too, I would think. JMHO
