You can see the "spoiler" on the gear door here. That little thing lets the gear retract much easier.

Hounddog, here is a better picture. I also added weathering to her also. She looked too much like a toy to me without it.

Sure makes it look like a peice of junk ... But there weren't any new shiny
planes That saw a lot of action. Really more realistic than all the pristine
War Birds a lot of guys fly.

Great looking Jug. Who's sliding canopy set up did U use?... Close up Pics PLZ.
I take it is actuated when the flaps are deployed ,,, NEET Idea.
Does it fly any different with the Canopy open and flaps down and dirty?

OH how about posting some pics of your field in the
Where Do U Fly? Thread and tell a little about your home field.

Kelvin exclusively making exhaust for radial engines going forward. He may have some old stock left over but he shared with me recently that it's now radials only.

Talked with Jim from Bisson at Toledo show, he told me he'll make anything if he has a drawing. Kelio told me the same thing 2 years ago. I guess different customers get different stories. Make a drawing and take it locally to a guy that Tig welds. Buy some 6061 aluminum, cut it to size and save money. Pay someone 50 to 75 to do it. I did, my exhaust goes thru fuselage and dumps out where waste gates do . I used Bob Violette ceramic heat insulating paint.

I have had great luck with bison in Canada a bit more costly but great craftsmanship plus they are quieter. this is from my experience with both, Plus if you need something special send them a mockup and a written description and they will make it. the ones I have ordered were 15 to 29 more than stock.
But that is just me

Cheers Bob T

P.S Lance is the fellow I have been dealing with.

Cheers

For any one thinking or has made actual waste Gate Exhaust for their P-47 I just happened to travel to the Loan Star Museum of Flight on Galveston Island this last April. Whet there to Get some close up details of TarHeel Hal, Might attempt to make mine more scale some day when I get "ROUND TUIT". Anyway this is a close up of the Waste Gates and oil cooler shutters. Lots more Details if anyone wants them.
