Hope your Lightly Loaded Very Lightly built 3D Electric is able to take the typical Wing Loading of a war bird With out some beefing up. Just saying.

Are you gonna be swinging a 4 blade prop? I've heard { and seen } that the DA85 is a real shaker. I've got a guy in my club that has one in a Tar Heel Hal & it isn't much faster than a DLE61. Just wondering !

Hi Rob,
I hope to run a 4-blade if I can find the right prop. My 85 is serial #17 but it's had the piston mod and retarded timing done. I've also fiddled with the carb springs and the engine runs real well for a large single. The engine hasn't been used for several seasons now but it didn't vibrate too bad in the two previous airframes I had it in. So fingers crossed.
Thx,
Steve

I'm curious how it'll do also. I'm installing one in my Tar Heel Hal and have a Beila four blade for it. I've seen a video of one flying and seemed pretty good. Really wanted to do a Saito but don't think it would be enough power and didn't want to deal with a different fuel mix and maintenance

I have the giant top flite p40 with the da 85 it's most def. a shaker but if you like fast warbirds that's the hot ticket, I use menz 24/14 prop and does about 130mph going to use the Saito 450 on my razorback!

No particular reason. I've got the EME 55 in the TF FW-190, TF P-51, TF- p-47 bubble canopy and the ESM PC-21. It powers them all extremely well, and I always end up getting them on some sort of sale. The only plane it didn't work well in was the H9 Corsair. I swapped it for the EME 70 and am much happier.
