Rare WW2 Fighter

The Tsunami flew great. Just a click or two of trim was required. I had it out on Wednesday for it's maiden and its performance was so good, I just kept flying it . Put in ten eight minute flights. I'll insert an image of the first page of the article. Can you read it or print it? Dan.

It printed out nicely, thanks for taking the trouble.
What is the wing span of that beauty? What do you have mounted in the nose for power? I'm not surprised that it flew well. I can't stop flying the 520 either. I've run nearly a gal. of fuel through the K&B. I noticed that your old designs used the Veco, was that your engine of choice? Milt

Milt, I'll scan in the rest of the pages a little later. I always used the Veco 61. I used to fly at the same field that Clarence Lee used and he recommended the engine, obviously. K&B was in the Los Angeles area, where I lived, also. After a publication or two, they kept sending me more engines. I donated the ones that I could not use. More to follow later. Dan.

Interesting article on the Dewotine. Here is mine. About 25 flights on the plane. The RCGF 26 has broken in and now turns the 16-8 three blade Master Airscrew prop 8,250 rpm static. Since the engine spec list 8,000 rpm as max, I've installed a MA 16-10 three blade prop. No video, but here is the plane at the field. I.

This is a good flying plane except for propensity for a high speed stall. With the elevator throw set at just enough for landing, if you give it full up elevators at high speed it will snap. So I will try not to do a panic pull up at low altitude. I suppose they didn't sell enough as the plane is virtually unknown this side of the Atlantic.

Welcome to one of the most exclusive clubs on RCU...the Dewoitine Club. It's good to have a warbird other than the usual P-51 or Spitfire plus you get a great flying plane. Do you have unlimited vertical with that 26cc?

I don't have unlimited vertical with the 26, but it goes straight up as far as I need it to. Changed to a 16-10 Master Airscrew 3 blade. Now turns about 7,400 rpm. Level speed is slightly faster and vertical not quite as much as you would expect with more pitch, but still has plenty of power. Have not seen another one at our field or anywhere else for that matter.
