Default Don Smith Hellcat

I just completed my Don Smith Hellcat and I need some information on control throws. Can someone list the recommended control throws for this model or the Byron Hellcat? They are the same size and should fly the same. Thanks for your help.

Tom,

Contacting Chad is a great idea. I am also building one of Don's Hellcat's and have it in the priming stage. Years ago, when Don was still alive, I contacted him regarding control throws. His comments were as follows. All throws are from centerline to full throw:

- Rudder: 1.5 inches
- Elevator: 1.0 inch
- Ailerons: .75 inch
- Flaps: 45 degrees but he suggested limiting to 30 degrees

I hope this helps. Let's see some pictures of your Hellcat.

Thanks!

Paul

Default Hellcat photos

Thanks for your help. I will try to send some photos. Each time I try to select a photo, I can not get the folder with the new photos. It brings up another folder. How do I change to a different file.

When you click on 'select', a screen pops up and at the top is a 'look in' and an arrow where you can make your selection.

Default Try again

One more try, I feel so dumb!
I still can not display a new file of photos from my computer. The same file of photos comes up every time. The only select button says select all and this selects all the photos shown on the screen. I tried dragging a photo to the bottom section, no go. I tried the Add Files button which goes to my computer files, but how do you add them. It was a lot easier to build this model then display photos of it.
Thanks for your help, P51Tom

Default Maybe

Maybe I am clicking on the wrong option. I just thought that choosing Manage Attachments may be incorrect. I adding photos many times in the past, but something seems different. In the past I think I went to Preview Post and then was able to add my photos with add attachments. All I see now is Manage Attachments. Thanks again P51Tom.

I will be leaving on a 9 day cruise tomorrow. Maybe when I return, I will finally understand this procedure and be able to post some photos.

Thanks,

Hi Tom,

If you would like to send the photos to me I would be happy to host them on my Photobucket account and post them here for you. As a dyed in the wool Hellcat fanatic I would love to see your bird.

I am using a G62. The model comes in at 32 pounds with some weight added to the front of the cowl. I have not been able to put it on my CG stand to check if it needs more weight. I had a rotator cuff operation Nov 20. I should be able to pick her up soon.
Have a good day, P51Tom
