Ames Multi-Fly Saturday September 5
Just 4 more days to the only multi-engine meet I know of!
One day only, right off the freeway
11 Trophies, $1,700 worth of prizes you really want, and Hickory Park BBQ

We welcome any military or classic aircraft, also, and we have a good time: no "snooty 'tudes!"

The Multi-Fly went very well, despite a lot of last-minute angst on my part
33 pilots, more than 160 sorties, wind straight down the runway all day
5 four-engine bombers flew, although not all at once.
WWI enthusiasts from south-central Iowa have become a very enjoyable part of the event. Watching them fill the sky with way-more-aircraft-than-we-usually-allow, like a swarm of hornets, is quite the thrill
I was forced to give the "Best WWI" trophy to my buddy foodstick's (above) Sopwith, despite fears I might be accused of undue influence. Just too many great planes and great influence in the genre
Thanks all for coming, all
We enjoy being a little "niche" event with such a high-caliber bunch of regular pilots that true crashes are a rarity
And that means YOU, too, Caden

Hi Mark.
Just wanted to let you and the yellow shirts know that the Dyersville crew really had a great time at the Ames show. Unbeleivable aircraft there, great flying (especially the jet guy), great food and pretty amazing prizes. We had a blast and are looking forward to next years show.
Thanks for everything
Bill

Thanks, Bill
Y'all are the stars of the show.
We got a front page write-up in the Ames Tribune today: no factual errors and over a dozen pilots pictured
Overall, good publicity for the hobby, I think
