To whom it may concern:

I stock some Sierra gear, specially the ones for the fliteskin kits. If you are still in need to complete a project, give a call. www.fliteskin.com

I just called Sierra Retracts and asked for a part they don't have and I don't need.

Now will just see how long it will take to receive it.

I will relate a experience I had with Sierra this summer. I bought used set on RCU for a Skyshark P-40. Well on the maiden flight a elevator servo locked out full down and crashed the plane. The plane was on final so the gear took a lot of the damage. I called Darryl and talked about getting them fixed and to check if the retracts could go into a Top Flite P-40. I was told he could fix them but the Skyshark and Top Flite gear are a little different. Then I was given the option of trading in the Skyshark gear for the Top Flite gear.
I thought that was pretty good customer service. I got a heck of a deal on the Skyshark gear on RCU so buying brand new Top Flite gear was pretty simple decision to make. Plus I love the Sierra gear I have in my Top Flite Mustang. Only gear I will use because my positive experience with Sierra.

I had Sierra gear in an ESM Hellcat which crashed at high speed due to receiver failure. Sent them to Darrell. They were repaired and returned. Cost some money but less than new gear. Took about two months. I'm putting a new crank in the engine and new rings, bearings and seals. Now I need another ESM Hellcat. Thomas at VQ Warbirds says he will have some in December. I really have no complaint about Sierra.

Just wanted to give well earned compliment to Tomas at VQ Warbirds for great customer service. After 2+ phone calls and an email to Sierra, I had given up on getting a second set of retracts and spares for my TF GS Mustang.
I took Tomas up on his offer to supply the above and he came through in a little over 1 week; many thanks.

Actually the Skyshark P40 Sierra retracts do fit in the Top Flite P40 with very little mods. The wheel tubs were enlarged to 5 1/2". They are about 3/4" shorter though. But they work just fine. Here is the TF P40 with them. The plane was painted with latex and weathered to remove the ARF look. Paul
