Thanks ktsai
Can you tell me what is the "RAL" or reference for car paint.I think that it is difficult to get the good color without RAL
No serious from toprc to sell a product with failure and no help.
Where is your GG.mine is 155 mm.
Have you nose weight?

Hi
Vertical performance are very good with the saito fg84 and 24x10 propeler.
Here one image about paint defect. It is similar they had applied polish or make a paint repair.
This paint defect is on the two stab and one wing.
Cracks are not visible on picture. They are on the thin part of the two wings where are the wheels.I have used epoxy to fix them
With the sun it is not nice.

I can now answer my own question about which retract brand to get. I'd have to recommend the top RC. The Robart has this strut guide sticking out the side you'd normally put the landing gear door on and that way isn't going to work. I think the strut can be flipped over and fit in the landing gear well. But the other annoying thing is one of the two main retracts stalls out very quickly and it never fully traversed a up or down without help. It has to be replaced.
That looks a little tricky to work with but you have to admit it's scale...apparently the gear door must have moved with the scissors but I don't know that for sure. Definitely needs some research

Just remove the scissor, they're just for looks anyway

correct, geometry. the lower half is basically already 90 degrees perpendicular to the strut in this picture so it can't go out much 'wider' and it looks like there's a bit of clearance left between where it rests now. Therefore lower half would have to rotate down upon compression and it looks like the assembly is designed to do so.

Started on the inner doors, and figured out the throttle and tank install. I prefer to use a Fiji water bottle and it's wider than the included tank, so had to make sure there was room for the gear door and throttle pushrods on the LH side.

I took a bunch of Zero pictures (and a lot of details on other aircraft too) during my last visit to the WPAFB museum. Starting on page two of the set of pictures the Zero begins. Lots of details that show just how far off scale this Zero is (compared to that one anyway). I have great detail on all landing gear, doors and the wacky hinge thing that the main inner gear doors use. When you look at the cowl fairing and exhaust you see how really out of scale this kit is, but I still love it.

Good question, couldn´t maiden mine,(saito 90r3) after warm up and some time, performance droped and was kind of erratic (maybe misfiring), temps were not that high (145-160), cowl is baffled. The ignition was right behind cyl #1, very close to the exauhst also blocking the air flow,Tried it without cowling and was perfect after some adjustment, so decided to open a hole in the firewall and install it behind it(in the upper part inside the fuselage). Gonna try it and see what happens.

Saito FG84. Keleo exhaust ring. Cg 145. 3-4 pounds of nose weight. All up weight dry is around 33-34 pounds.
Difference. I repainted plane, added 40,000 rivets, 150 small screws, 2 additional bulkheads, full Ziroli cockpit & scale pilot, scale-looking exhaust, and a 3 bladed Biela prop. Also, I have 2 Life 2500 rx batts and 2 lipo 2s 2000mah for gear and ignition.
The Keleo sounds amazing...but it leaves no space for mounting rx batteries or ignition. I bet I could have saved at least another pound of nose weight by moving these items into the cowl.
Very happy with the plane but still tuning engine after a deadstick.
Best to all,
jim

I suggest you plan at least an ENTIRE day when the weather is good so you can spend all the time you want outside on the ramp AND don't take anyone along who will pressure you to move on. They have stuff behind stuff behind stuff, if you know what I mean. A plus of that place is that their documentation for each exhibit is generally very good so its worth stopping and reading which is very time consuming overall but the negative is, unlike a museum such as the Boeing one up in Seattle, you generally can't get really close to a lot of it nor get to view it well from all angles due to the density of the number of exhibits. So take a real camera with a zoom lens and a decent flash. The indoor pictures I took without a flash were generally not very good. In fact, a lot of the detail you see in the pictures you could never see from where you have to stand as they are in shadows and too far away. The flash is what makes all the rivets and gear and drop tank type detail visible so you'll never see it that good in person, unfortunately. You'll need to plan for sit down breaks to take the load off and recharge. It's really a 2 day trip if you are in to minutia. ha ha.
