Is what you have alcohol or petrol? I have a couple of the 777's that I have been running for a few years now with great success. I also have a FG90 that runs well. The Seven cylinder just sounds much better than three and at 90cc should be a little throatier.
Any US importers yet?

For a 90RG, I have found a 24 oz is plenty. The 90 runs on very little gas. Just a thought.

yeah it runs on 40:1 synthetic oil/gas and there are no US distribution centers yet....I’ll post as I progress with the build and should start soon

I have successfully maidened my Zero and it flies fantastic. One issue though. One of the TopRC retracts doesn´t have the strenght to retract once in the air. On ground everything seems fine, but do feel that they are a bit week. Not much of a push to make them stop retracting.
Anyone else have this problem?

Mine strain to bring up the gear as well. Every so often one will stop for no reason. I have the original electrics from Toprc. You can try lubrication. Do you have those or the newer Robart ones?

Hi Jim, OK so you too are having this problem. I also have the TopRc gear set. Its a little irritating to start Up not Knowing og the gear will retract🤔. Have tried to lube and used a lipo with a higher C-count.

Mitch at Down and Locked can probably fix you up. I have an A10 that wouldn't drag the gear up in the airstream moving forward, his gear work like a champ

It’s amazing to me how the pneumatic landing gear have been reliable for decades and the electrics have had more trouble than anyone should endure....I’m staying with the air system

I have used the TopRc gear for the Zero for several years with no problems. But, Mitch does make an electric retract for the TopRc Models Zero and he will machine it so that the TopRc gear leg can be used (since the strut was designed to mount the gear doors. the Robart is not). You have to relieve the wing back at the back of the gear mech. mount to slide the gear mech back just a bit. Not knowing if I would ever need a gear replacement, I sent a TopRc Zero wing to him to come up with a gear. So far I have not needed one. Just my opinion, but I like electric and use it when ever I can.

what is more irritating is that we pay more than $400 for the electric retract and it doesn’t work right. And not even one solution from the manufacturer!!! And yet they want us to buy their fw109, their jets, etc. why the heck would I want to buy their products, then turn around and spend some more just to get it to work right. I rather save my money and go with someone else.

you are spot on. Hate to say that me and my pal went for the TopRc Fw-190 as well. Mine havent flown yet, but saw Dans maiden. Very nice landing, but yet gear collapsed. Even more crappier than this one. It is now changed to Sierra. Frustrating, and expensive (and stupid) lessons. From now im back to well known/proven brands.

i contemplated their cougar but opted to get the one from skymaster instead with pneumatic retracts.

I have the Zero, two P-51's, FW-190 and Odyssey. The only one I have had issues with, is the FW190 !! BAD !! sizzor links and not Big enough Air rams to retract properly. I had to do a barrel roll on every flight to get them both up. Wheel weight stops the gear every time.
On the others I have had MANY MANY flights with Zero hassle. I use a 7 cell 1600 nimh but have also used a 8cell 2000mah nimh on the older controllers. I dont care for Lipos.

The gentleman's name is Toshiaki Nakayama if you want to look him up on FB. I too have a Top RC Zero waiting on the shelf that will be getting a complete and total renovation similar to what Mr. Nakayama is doing. Got to get a couple other projects done first but can't wait to get working on it when circumstances allow.
