I spent a lot of time by searching some information about DU J PL124. I didnīt find any good materials or picture of this Spitfire with visible serial number. I decided to change the tail number. I will paint DU V MJ751. This Spitfire was often flown by F/O Miroslav Liskutin. During one of the "Ramrod" action on 21 May 1944 over the Fance he hit a tree during very low flight when he was shootin on the vehicles. The wing was damaged, but F/O Liskutin came back to Appledram air base. I suppose it was Ramrod 906.
Here you can see some of his combat films.

The second third of painting is done. Tomorrow I will put the green fields. I tried to put them today, but whole Spit is covered by dust from the grey paint. I can rub it away after 12 hours.
Then I started the painting I prepared the surface for wear out. The result is visible on the stab.

Because of long rainy weather I was able to paint the green fields today. Iīve painted only the fuselage. Iīm not very satisfied with the result. There is a lot of the green dust on the grey fields. Anybody have idea how to paint the smooth board between the colours? If I use same tape or stencil there would be sharp edge as on German warbirds.

Hi Prekin
If it's any help :-
The factory method of painting the camouflage pattern was use light ply masks with small spacers (around 25mm) to soften the colour demarcation.

Hi Perkin
I used foam masking tape, its used in the automotive trade for masking inside door jams..I repainted my hanger 9 spit using this method it worked well.
