Did you add some front lead? Someone told me he had to add 450g of front lead and that was with a 35cc gas engine! And also had to shorten the engine mount.. Don't know why they make them so tail heavy. Why is it ugly? Is it the colours? To me it seams to have more colours than the brown and green ones.. Are the electric (servoless) LG reliable? What 30-50cc Spitfire would you chose if you had to do it again? I see there are H9 but it's no longer available, then thre is the Phoenixmodels one, and also the ESM... Thank you!

I didn´t add any weight in the nose, but I use heavier retracts and wheels. Also put NiMH batteries for RX and ignition and place them close the engine. As you can I see I replaced the tail strut which came with the kit.
My reason is that is so ugly due clolours and also they wanted to achieve to Mk. IX but the cowl is Mk.XIV. It is good kit, because it is designed for electric and also glow and gas engines. That is the reason of long nose.
If someone would like to start with warbirds I would recommend that Spitfire. But TopRC Spitfire is the same size and looks more like a Spitfire.

How much down elevator did u have to mix in with the flaps? I am at zero mix and it dives when I engage the flaps.

Tks

Thanks Prekin
Mine has a Saito FA 180 in it that handles it quite well. However the roll rate is very slow. Any suggestions?
I increased the aileron deflection (same for up and down) somewhat but its still very slow. Should I introduce differential?

Thanks
Rafeek

Very slow? Don´t forget, that it is not a 3D aerobatic plane, but semi scale warbird.

Try adding that funny looking thing in the back.. rudder, when you roll. It will help with the roll rate.

Default Radio channels

Hey, this was a great read. Unbelievable how you made it look so much better. Great job.
i have a question, i have just bought this model, althought i would love to make the changes you have, i do not have the time. Im almost there with installing all the hardware.
i know youve since sold this beaut but i am hoping you can remember.
My question is, how many channels did you use and which flight controls (if any) did you link together to share 1 channel? Did you have to use a servo reverser to get the servos to move in the same direction i.e if flaps were linked or elevators?

Many thanks

Thank you for the kind words, I am glad you like the remake.
Those are hard questions now. I am not sure but if there were any channels linked together, it could be only elevator and retracts.

Default Hello from Germany

Hello to you all,

nice work Perkin and thanks to you others for the thread itself!

Got my Spitfire allready maiden.
Had little issues with the rudder. Was wondering why she was so twitchy on the rudder and found out later that i forgot to transmit dual rate to landing phase 🙄

I go with the same wheels that you use Perkin. They came with the kit. Bought the Spit as a crashed plane and built it up again.
i also molded the wheel houses for better look and less air drag...

Here are some pics and a short video.
flight video will come later. Weather is sh... here in Germany
