Default Jett engine in a P-51?

I was given a Jett .90 a few years ago, And feel like it should get some use. I would love to put this in a .60 Miss America mustang. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this?

thanks!

That is a perfect combination! I just put a 90LX in my 65in wingspan .60 size Dago Red P-51! Here is the link to the video I shot a couple of weeks a go.

My only concern would be the pipe. The Jett needs the stock pipe as opposed to a Pitts to run correctly. I would orientate the engine so that the pipe runs right down the center of the bottom of the fuse.

No worries there. I added a picture to my gallery that shows the Jett 90LX installed inverted. I used a 1/4in exhaust extension that Dub sells for the Toni installation. The cylinder fit in the cowl with room to spare, and it didn't hurt the performance a bit. In the video that's a 12x6 turning 14,800 on the ground. It really made the plane fun, it was boring with a O.S.75AX. Just make sure to use a bladder fuel tank. These motors need a constant even flow of fuel!

That's a clean install freak. I'm a little surprised with the MA prop. The APC pulls a little harder and is little quieter.
Great looking P-51 though!!

Thanks! You are so right on the prop! It had an APC on in the video which was the second day. You can see it at the end of the clip. The poor Master Airscrew was all I had for the first flight. It was whirling louder than the motor! Surprised it didn't throw a blade! It was only rated at 14,500rpm lol
