This is probably the easiest ARF to build I have seen. The hardware package is good and everything seems to fit properly. The mounting holes for all the servos are just slightly undersized. I am a little concerned about the glue joints. It appears the parts are snapped together then corner joint glued. I have epoxied several critical joints.
The tail feathers are in and functional, Tomorrow I do the wings. I'm still waiting for a motor mount. I did spend a little time detailing the cockpit. Here are a couple of progress shots.

I have modified my hatch for magnetic attachment. I will be putting all switches and fuel dots under this hatch. I used 10 rare earth magnets and a 1/4" Forstner bit to cut the recessed pockets. A little GOOP in the pockets hold the magnets in place. No flight experience yet, but it takes a pretty good tug to tilt the hatch forward and separate the magnets...

The pilot I used is six inches tall from the waste up and four inches across the waste. He is slightly big for this cockpit, but he is the best I had. He is probably somewhere half way between 1/5 and 1/4 scale. The picture shows to his left a ESM 1/5 scale pilot. The bust is too short and there are no arms and I didn't feel like carving the missing parts. The third pilot is a 1/4 scale Great Planes German pilot. The fourth and biggest is the pilot that came with the plane. The thing to remember here is the Lysander was a huge plane with a very spacious cockpit.

Paul,
All the mods look great. I am all electric as of late last year and I'm so tempted to go electric on this one but the Satio 3 cyl 60cc gasser sounds so good. The clear birdcage behind your canopy, did you just cut out holes for the wing tube, anti rotation pins, & wiring? Does the clear birdcage fit between the wing root and the fuse (upper structure)?

Hello, I am very new on this forum
This is my Lysander that almost finish soon. I do the same thing after I opened the box I can't stand with her long nose so I cut that cowl about 1 inch shorter. I cut on the cowl flap and double the cowl together with micro balloon and epoxy as well.
I planed to use TP70 4 strokes engine on my bird and the weight is pretty awesome for the shorter nose CG. A 3 blades 24x8 was installed with aluminum 4 inches spinner pretty well fit!
I am working on the scale detail such as light and cockpit hopefully will finish them soon for the maiden flight nest week.

Looking good Thamaroj. I just got an email from Becky at Sig Manufacturing about the new delivery date for my Westland Lysander. The boat just left Vietnam so it now looks like the middle of September before they arrive. By the time Sig picks them up and ships them out it could be the middle of October before I get my hands on mine. What a bummer.

Zippi,
I didn't get to fly her this weekend. Just prior to taxing for takeoff thee left elevator servo started fluttering and vibrating. I didn't have a replacement servo of that size so that can cancelled the flight for that date.
Thamaroj,
I set up the CG as the manual specifies. I also verified the CG with a set of lysander plans. My plane balanced perfectly as built. To be on the safe side I added 9 ounces of lead under the motor just to make sure she is a little nose heavy on the first couple of flights.
Here she is ready to go ...... I thought.

Paul,
From the looks of your pic the weather would have been great for the maiden. Maybe next weekend. Can we get a pic with the canopy off with the battery's installed? If I end up going electric I'll probably cut the cowl down as you did since the CG came out ok. Looks great. Just waiting to hear the report on the power of your AXI 5345. I will be running a 3 blade prop.
