Default 1/4 scale Balsa USA de Havilland DH4

I am about 1/2 way through construction and am having trouble with a muffler system. I am using a ZDZ 50, mounted upright. The pitts style is not an option in this case. Has anyone had any contact with a situation like this

A couple pictures would help identify the problem. The size of the kit you are building, it should not be any problem.. Please post some picture of your build. Also BALSA USA is very helpful when comes from problems with their kit. Great bunch of guys.

As requested, I have posted pictures of my De Havilland plus the airplanes I have built since January when I retired. The problem I am having is that all the mufflers I have seen are for inverted motors. Mine is straight up. I think it is bisson makes one that is an oval can that comes right off the exhaust but it again is for an inverted engine. I'm looking for that type I think but for an upright engine with the exhaust tubes facing down

Tom, it was straight out of the Bisson catalog. I had to reduce the height about an inch to get to fit in a previous application. That is why you see the weld lines along the top. Dan.
