Default Pictures posted coming up as attachments instead of pictures!

Does anyone have a remedy for this problem?
I've got a good 150 pictures to post but will not post them until this problem is fixed.
I've sent the web site 3 private messages with no response.
Personally, I've quite posting on this web site until they fix the problem or I get a solution for posting pictures and not attachments (no pictures showing on the post).

I just uploaded a photo in the TF FW-190 Giant ARF thread without any issue. You must be trying to upload photos via the short method, insert image icon?

Roger,
I'm using the icon 'insert image' which then allows me to select image on my hard drive (the 3rd last option of icons displayed while in edit mode). I have always used this procedure in the past and it stopped working about 3 weeks ago.
What method are you using (be specific on procedure).
thanks,
Sam

Sam, reply with a message, select "Go Advanced" - Select "Manage Attachments"- Select "Add Files" - Choose photo File from your hard drive or other devise ("Highlight the Photo") - Select "Open" - Select "Upload", the photo will appear in bottom panel, if you are loading just one photo select "Done" then select "Submit Reply". Make sure you have completed your message that you want folks to read before you select "Submit Reply".

If you are posting more than one photo, after the first photo appears in the bottom panel again select "Add Files", Choose another photo from your hard drive or other devise, "Highlight the Photo", select "Open", select "Upload", the photo will appear in the bottom panel. Select "Add Files" for the next photo and repeat sequence until all the photos you what posted have been selected and are showing in the bottom panel then select "Done" then select "Submit Reply", you are done. Make sure you have completed your message that you want folks to read before you select "Submit Reply".

Well, that's a kick in the rear. I don't know what to suggest, it may be that a setting was changed on you computer without you realising it? Sorry that I cannot help in correcting the problem with your photo posting!

Testing with a different attachment setting.

Roger,
bummer.
thanks for trying.
After sending 3 messages to the web site without a response, I need to find a monitor's handle and ask him.

The 'contact us' must be ignored!
My name used to show in the upper right hand when I was logged on. Now, it says I'm logged in but no name shows.

hey Sam,

I have the same problem. I tried to post two pics on HPA's (Paul's) thread about the ODP event next week. The pics don't show up just on attachment which you then have to click on to get the pic.

pain in the butt. See you at ODP. now it's working. Go figure!!!!!

Sam, I believe I have identified your problem, it's with your settings selection. Scroll up to the top of this page, click on "Settings", scroll down until you find and select General Settings, then scroll down to "Thread Display Options", see "Visible Post Elements" ensure you have a "Check" in "Show Images Block", then scroll to the bottom of page and click on "Save". You will now be able to post and see your pictures as an attached thumbnail instead of attached image.

I confirmed this by testing, I removed the check from the show images block and posted a photo and it posted the photo as an attached image. I then went back and put the check back in the show images block and posted another photo and it posted as an attached thumbnail as per normal photo.

Roger

test 4

[ATTACH]2172184[/IMG]

Just got back from Elkhart's flyin and still not working.
Here's the options that were already checked:

Visible Post Elements:
  • Show Signatures
  • Show Avatars
  • Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

mine has show images versus show image block.
Weird system and no one that works for this web site seems to care to responding.

The system is also not notifying me when there are posts on my thread. They seem to have hosed my entire settings.

7/10 After reading this thread, just had to try posting an image (from West Texas Warbirds last year, not my plane).
Edit: Its working OK for me.

I just tried posting on my carf F4U and it's working. Later, will test if it's an 'all around' fix or just some of my threads weren't working properly.

I've sent the following message to monitor barracudahockey; see how long, if any response is made as I also sent another message to a monitor (failed to write down the name) a few days ago with no reply.

I've sent 3 messages to 'contact us' and one to a monitor with no response in the last 3 weeks.
I've not been able to post pictures and my profile shows it should :

Visible Post Elements:
  • Show Signatures
  • Show Avatars
  • Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

The only thread that works is the F4U thread:

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-w...sembly-57.html

All other threads only will do attachments, ie:
Blown up Ziroli P-47:

I actually replied this morning.

So I'll say it again here.

The programmers are aware of the issue and it's being addressed

Another site I visit is having picture posts/link problems. A portion of a post from one of their moderators:

"Explore is actively working with Disqus on the problem of posting pictures from your device. Disqus is currently only accepting pics from a link and not from your computer."

Odd. appears to be somewhat similar problem, but not quite the same.

So, here at RCU the web site is hosted on a number of servers. The forums are a huge database that's segmented among several servers. The belief is that one of those servers is causing the issue, thus explaining why content physically hosted on one server may display correctly while threads containing content hosted on another server may be problematic.

Anywho, as I said before, tech is working on it.
