Thanks AC for taking the time for the info! I would likely go with a 100 just for the simplicity and the reliability.
I am excited for this build, I am on board. I'm a Hellcat junkie they are bad azz!

No problem Show,, glad to help!
Yeah your gonna like this one. Honestly, sounds pretty silly but I'm cool just looking at the fuse in my stand the way it is, lol.
I decided to go with the composite wing panels too. Jeff is workin his azz off i'm sure!
You can really tell the amount of work that goes into these, even the crate he uses to ship is well thought out. Only wish I would have know about this kit sooner.
Growing up I always like the Hellcat and the P-40 warhawk the best.
What scheme are you going with?

Must rephrase, I am on board watching the build but likely not this coming winter but next before I can get one going! I have always liked the solid dark navy schemes. I flew my esm yesterday with a dark navy wing and It was really hard to see at times so I may have to change it up!
I'm currently a year deep into a big restoration hellcat project but I hope to get her in the air soon
Not only do the hellcats look badass they have the kills to back it up!
I might pick one up sooner so I have some cool parts to look at LOL

Hi guys,
I used to offer the Hellcat as a total all-composite kit, but that meant I built the outboard panels and all the other hoo-ha involved, and it got to be a bit much. I now offer the Hellcat as basically a semi kit. The DVD included shows the plans for building the all-balsa version of the wing, and a DXF file to send to a kit cutter for the wing. The fuse comes basically done, including all formers glassed in place, the cowl mounted, and even a coat of primer to boot. If one wishes, they can substitute the balsa skins on the outboard panels with the detailed f/g skins I offer. Saves a ton of time and effort!
And Show...I hear ya! Always thought the Hellcat and the Thunderbolt screamed 'American Iron'...big and bad.
Like the scheme on my Hellcat proto....I love the moniker on the fuse...."Death and Destruction"
Man, we were something back then...
Hey Aron...thanks for the sunshine buddy....

AC2, first chance I had to stop by here; yep I have the DA100 stored away and waiting to go into my Hellcat; when Jeff makes your engine box he wants to know at that time what you are using and what to set the firewall at; I figured I could get the DA100 to fit. Thanks for doing all the research.

Geoffrey....you're not trying to make me cry, are ya? Miss you guys too! Couldn't ask for a better bunch of scale addicts than the boys in Minny!
And folks, if you're not familiar, F4u is probably the best stick I've seen in my 35 plus years in this hobby. The guy could fly an ironing board with the correct power! The photo is of the maiden day for the proto on the Hellcat...and guess who flew that initial, nerve-wracking flight? That's my buddy right behind me in the pic. What a job he did on the overtly-nose heavy first flight! Sure wish he was here to maiden the new Andersen IAR-80 I'm working on! Youda man Jeff!
And AC2..can you believe I had to travel 2000 miles to meet a fellow Vikings fan on the west coast? Sure appreciate the kind words from you guys!

Hey Tony,
Jeff does supply the wood for the stab and all the formers are installed in the fuse so what is left for the wings could be cut with a scroll saw easily.
If you buy the kit you will be pleased i'm sure.
Reach out to Jeff, he is more than willing to answer any questions you may have and is a very good guy!

Tony, not sure if you are aware but the kit is made by Jeff so the only thing anyone can cut would be the main wing parts so there is no "wood kit" The fuse is glass, just look at the pictures I posted everything is there minus the wing but Jeff does make wing skins
