Default Top Flite Spitfire recommended servos

Hi Everyone,

I am building the TF Spitfire and couldn't find any information on what servos are recommended for this kit. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions please?

TF mentions Futaba 3003 at website below but I am unsure if they recommend this servo to be used throughout the plane as they say 'Quantity 1'.

Thanks in advance,
Pedro

Thanks Chris.
Would you recommend Hitec 82 mg for the retracts air valve?

Pedro, Hitec 645 servos are overkill with 107 ounce torque for this size of aircraft with a 63" wing span. The Futaba 3003 with 44- 57ounce torque will suffice for all flight controls. The 3003 is also much lighter in weight than the 645 and cost less than the 645. The lighter the better for this size of Spitfire, also the Hitec 82mg servo is ideal for the retract air valve, that's what I have for the air valve too.

Hi Roger,

Thanks for the info. I think you have also replied my question in a different forum, thanks.
I think I will go with HS-425BB to keep all servos from Hitec. I have seen some build logs where people seem to be happy with this choice.
They are slightly heavier than 3003 but maybe I will have a bit more quality with the BBs.

Good day Pedro, the HS-425BB is a good choice, you will be happy using those. You are very fortunately to have the TF Spitfire kit, they are no longer in production and since Horizon Hobby purchased TF I don't think we will ever be offered building kits of what ever models ever again by TF (sad). Enjoy building and flying the TF Spitfire!

Roger
