Who is the 3rd party vendor? And did they ship from their own existing stock? If so, your acquisition would shed light on the CMJ product quality but would say nothing about the current state of CJM itself.

Chuck Graves at Warbirds Colors (He-111 and He-219). I don’t know the source of the shipment.

I'm still wondering if CJM is still in existence. About a year ago I bought and received a B17 kit from Bruce that I am still working on. After many contacts with CJM I finally decided it was a waste of time and decided to just continue on my own. Many problems that I won't go into.

I got my gear after 3 months but only after filing a dispute with PayPal. He claimed that one of his employees mistakenly thought that my order had already shipped. I don’t buy that.

I received my Hawker Hunter, ordered in November 2017, around mid January. There were only a couple things missing, nothing serious. I've tried contacting CJM serveral times, either disconnected phone or no response after leaving a voicemail. Also no response to emails. In the final series of emails just prior to shipment, when Sanders and i were trying to work out payment, I caught him in a couple lies. Regardless, I paid and received the jet. I guess I should be grateful. I'm building it now, and I must say the basic fuselage is pretty good. It's finished in a scratchy primer, so it all needs some real finishing work prior to paint. That's ok. Parts are not marked, and there are no blueprints. Most wood parts don't fit well. Everything needs trimming as they are only an approximation of what's needed. There is a big book, but it's only helpful for ideas. I already made a few mistakes because key steps are just verbally described without pictures. There is no mention where or how to run the tail servo wires. It's all left to the builder. I'm up to the task, so no problem. But if a CJM is your first kit, you'd be lost. There isn't enough detail on the nose gear and doors in the book. The thrust tube was deleted from the order and I was refunded that cost. I had to go to another supplier for that. Got a better deal anyway. For those interested in such things, I recommend Jettech. Gary Mueller is an outstanding builder and he worked with me on special requirements.

I emailed Bruce about an issue I was having with some gear I bought several years ago and got an overnight response. He's retiring and the company is for sale.

Thanks for the update.
I just emailed him again requesting my missing items. I doubt I’ll ever get them. Talk to him a couple months ago and he said he was going to send it out. Never showed up of course.
I feel ripped off and lesson learned.

Just got a response from Bruce from a kit buy inquiry. He's retired and in Canada. All of his CJM stuff is in storage and he's looking to sell the business to "someone who will take it into the 21st century "

HTH,
Tony

That’s a nice plane, I think Bruce got caught because the trend is towards larger Jets now.

Here's the full text that I assume all emails are being responded to with:

After 28 years as the owner of Century Jet, I have decided to retire. I am seeking a new owner that can take this company into the 21st Century and meet your modeling needs. If you know of anyone that is interested in purchasing a dynamic company, let me know. At the present, Century Jet Models is in storage and I am in Canada. Contact me in August when I return and I’ll see what I can do to help.I will put your email in a computer file so when the company is sold, the new owner can contact you and get a status update.

Continue to look for updates over the coming weeks and months on our website at www.centuryjet.com.

I have enjoyed working with you and wish you the very best. Fly Safe!I

Sincerely,

Bruce Sanders

That letter from Sanders might have been better published right on his website. It’s better to go out with class and transparency.

So true. "we've done it this way for thirty years" - hear that all the time as they fail, again.

My whole experience dealing with Bruce and the constant lies for over a year since I placed my order has made me not even want to build my plane now.
So I selling a Sea Fury project for a good discount if anyone is interested.

Does anyone have a two gear controller or know whose controller will work with the Century jet models landing gear?

My CJM gear are simple air-up and air-down. So the Robart red valve will work. If you have gear doors to deal with, get a UP2 or a UP3. https://www.dreamworksrc.com/rc-air-...anufacturer=33

I finished my Century Jets Hawker Hunter in Swedish garb. Thought you all would like to see a pic of it. It has a KingTech K60 turbine tucked in there. True airspeed sensor, an Aura gyro, a custom tank from Eugene in Canada, and a custom tailpipe by Jettech.
