The Wing area is 91.2dm2
that comes out to 1413.6sq in
Im at a whopping 44lbs with no weight added. the problem i have is the motor is not that heavy. so to get it to balance im running 2 6s 14000mah batteries.
thought maybe finding some very light servos for the horizontal stab and take out the tail retract and mount a fixed unit. but I think it would only shed a pound if that.

MY BAD, wing area is posted on the Top RC website. 1450 sq in and that is 10 Sq ft so the math is pretty easy. Figure out your weight in OZ so Im at 59 oz per sq' and you are at 70 oz per sq'
Pretty staggering numbers except these are such big airplanes and Reynolds numbers are becoming our friend!

How much extra clearance did you have? I have a DA 100 looking for a home and i believe the DA is about 40mm more in width due to the spark plug placement on the DA head. Think the DA 100 would fit?
Thanks

Finding a level line on the TopRc Fw190
Does anyone have a line of reference they are using to establish level?
I am bouncing between the line on the top of the vertical stab and the top line on the fuselage that goes from the cross to the red band. it seems to be on the same angle as the horizontal stab.
I am asking as I have gotten two different cg points. one with my Vanessa and one with my scales. I think it may have something to do with not being perfectly level.
Vanessa has me at 166 and the scales have me at 162mm. I think the Vanessa I had the tail slightly low

But you are still seven pounds lighter than me :-)
I have an incidence meter that only fits on the main wing half way down just past the aileron.
if I put the model to zero on that the tail is about four inches higher than I had it during the scales and Vanessa measuring.
Getting frustrating.

Its hard to believe you are that much heavier. But its all useful load! There isn't any way you can remove weight.
Fly it and start moving the weight back maybe some of the lurkers can chime in on a level point. I cant get to the location but I thought the floor under were the accessory hatch might be a level point in flight.
This is the Vanessa rig, again I trued it to level with the incidence meter. You can get stock aluminum at the home stores that will fit the incidence meter or order one from tower. Not that much $ compared to the FW-190.

I used the original wing pylon even though they’re not in the scale location. They should be located further toward the leading edge and that would also fix the issue of the bomb interfere to the flap. The bomb releases are the e-flite electric from horizon....they’re really a neet little device.

Maiden for mine yesterday.
It lifted off quickly and flew great. took five clicks down trim with takeoff flaps and one click of right aileron with flaps up. Tracks well and flies really nice, can't tell its 44lbs.
Seven Minutes in and 3/4 battery used and super excited until I went to lower the gear and the right one would not come down. I tried multiple times and decided it needed to belly land on the dead grass in the parking lot of our field.
Amazingly, nothing was hurt, the bomb rack (no tank) acted like a skid and it slid along for about 30 feet. no scratches on the wings or even the bomb rack and a few scratches on the 28" Ramoser vario prop, but didn't break!
I put it on the stand at the field, cycled the gear and the offender came down and up like its supposed to.
Now to find out why my expensive electric retracts (Sierra gear with Down and Locked motors) failed in flight after about 30 up and down tests on the bench. Took them out and there are no signs of binding or any reason why one would hang up.
Ideas?

besides what is in post 95 in regards to showing rudder cable exits out the fuselage. Does anyone have a hard reference measurement that could be given so one could be successful in locating the proper exit point out the fuselage? Like measuring down from a stab tube location and then back to end of the fuselage skin.
thanks in advance!
