I never had more than 110 degree celsius (230F) after flight. The engine will be moved forward by 7-8mm to get the propeller and fan at the correrct place and then I will print a new fan with bigger diameter to fit more exact.

New 3D printed exhaust stacks are also ready to be glued in :-)

Propeller is a Ramoser 3 blade hub with scale VDM blades in 26,9" and a adjusted rpm on ground to 4500.
These are reliable, cheap blades and great service from Christian. varioPROP

Hello.
Can anyone tell me if that 3blade ramoser prop of 26,9 inches diameter would work with dle 120 2 stroke engine? I guess that in that case the pitch of the prop would be 10'' or something near to it, so that the engine could turn at 6.000 or more r.p.m.s.
Thank you in advance

Jim

Generally does anyone has any experience with these variable pitch ramoser propellers or varioprop or sl-props working with 2 stroke gas engines where they need to turn to higher r.p.m.s(6.000 or more) than mokis 4 stroke engines does? I am building a 1/4 scale sist fw 190 and i am trying to find if i can put 3blade 30 inches diameter VDM sl-prop to my zdz 160 champion 2 stroke engine, which would turn 32×10 2 blade metzlik at about 6400 r.p.m.s. Thank you.

The Vario 25F hub is designed for engines up to 100cc.
varioPROP

The 32i hub is designed for larger engines up to 250cc.
varioPROP

The pitch can be adjusted on the ground to reach a certain RPM you want but remember in the air it will be much as 1500RPM higher.
I suggest using telemetry with your radio to monitor the inflight RPM and adjust accordingly.

Both will handle two stroke and 4 stoke engines and the peak RPM of each type so long as it’s matched and set correctly.

Hi!
Do you think the newly announced UMS 125 would be a good choice for this plane ?

I just got off the phone with Adrian and he said the UMS engines will ship at the end of this month...in response to your question on the UMS 125, for a few more dollars you can have a 180cc which will fit nicely on the FW190 and be a more versatile engine for future use. Also, this is a great place to discuss engine choices for this model😃

I'm a bit concerned by the quality issues reported on UMS engines... I hope it will be improved on these new models. I'm hesitating with the FG-90 which also needs some modifications to be reliable.

I have two FG-90"s and they have proven 100% reliable.

both of my UMS 160cc have been great quality engines but if you don’t like adjusting engines regularly then you might be better off with a 2 stroke

What’s the issue with the FG90? I have the FG84 RE modified and that engine benefited from the mods. The 90 is a better engine and getting ready to maiden my friends Mulligan with one in it. That FG90 pulls like a beast on the ground.
It’s probably too small for this FW to be satisfying, no replacement for displacement!

Would love to get one of these however the local dealer here in Australia wants $3400 AUD for one. Bit on the pricey side.

Default Propeller to Cowl Spacing

Hello, I am getting close and got my Motor spacers installed. It looks great but there is only 3/16 / 2mm of clearance between the edge of the prop and the cowl.
What kind of spacing do you guys have?

I'm running a Leomotion LEO L8038-140 V2 with 14000mah 12s going to swing a 28/16 and/or a 26/16 Biela Fock Wulf Props.
Supposed to get 7 min on the 28/16 or 9 1/2 min on the 26/16 if the ECalc web site is correct. Should weigh in at 38 1/2 pounds.
