Default Robart Strut question

Hi Guys, so I need some Struts for my VQ 60 size P-40 (62" span) according to VQ it's Flying Weight should be 8 pounds, but that is most likely out of the box with the Fixed Wire Gear that the plane came with, so with Retracts and Shock type Struts I'm betting it's going to be more like 9 pounds in the air,

so I'm looking at Robart's 3/8 Robo Struts, they are for planes up to 12 pounds, I heard some one say that the Robart's Scissor Jacks are weak,

so I am just wondering if any one has had this problem with their 3/8 Robo Struts ??

thanks guys
Jim

I am running 3/8" Robart struts on my 11.75 pound 64" span Hellcat and have never had any issues with the strut itself or with the scissors. Honestly I think the 12 pound figure quoted by Robart is pretty conservative
